the internet was a lot better when there was a slight barrier to entry, in that you had to be somewhat technologically skilled to even use and access it. Now any retard with a smartphone can access it and post whatever dumb shit for the other retards to lap up. One thing I appreciate about this site is that it seems like everyone is fairly intelligent.

I've seen this happen in reddit gaming subs. Gate-keeping is seen as bad, but the entire definition of a sub-genre is keeping out things that don't apply. Yet it seems every game is in every genre now and you can post whatever game. Making it difficult to find games of a similar nature.

Yeah, see, that's where I'm stumped too.. Not "hate" speech, obviously. Just brainstorming here, but perhaps something extending the Troll rules(s); Blatantly derailing (bringing up their jews and white people and satanists and whatevs constantly and where it's not relevant), Completely nonsensical posts or threads, and perhaps some sort of fallacy conduct?

The way we're set up, it's a LOT harder for even a large group to commandeer conversations. And if there's too many of one kind of topic, I make a new sub-forum and shove all the threads of that topic in there until activity in that topic dies down.

This is why "the left" don't post here anyway. It's a filtering mechanism. The threat of being called a retard and not being able to cry to the mods keeps a lot of people away, because they can't survive without that.
