of course they are superior, the quality of the metal used in European swords is much higher than what the Japanese had. The quality of the iron that Japan had access to was quite low and with lots of impurities hence the development of the folding method for the metal that they employed in katanas.

Yes, but even if the metal wasn't in question, the design of European swords was also better. Japanese swords could cut better than European swords, true, but a European sword with a leaf blade would also even make that advantage null and void.

I can kinda see what he's saying, but there's two things to keep in mind here as well.

1. People are physically attracted to what they're physically attracted to, and I don't think it's mean or dismissive for a woman to not want to date someone that they find physically unattractive. Everyone friendzones others. People who say they don't are either lying or psychos. lol Admittedly though, often with women, they consider, more than men do, other things besides just physical attributes.

2. I also think it's important for everyone to take care of themselves as much as possible. If you treat your body like shit and then complain about not being able to find dates, you're the problem there 95% of the time. I think people have an obligation to their significant other(s) or potential significant other(s) to physically take care of themselves. I look around me when I'm in public and half of the time, I see people not even doing basic things like bathing or combing their damn hair. Maybe look up some fashion tips sometime, bruh...

TV Tropes has an interesting analysis page on katanas that discusses why they were assumed to be superior to their European counterparts. In short: katanas were cared for and preserved much better than European swords, thus why many more can be found in pristine condition.

An interesting take. Well, his heart is in the right place, and I can see why he wants to take away backwards compatibility as a crutch used by Sony, but ultimately, Sony's (and for that matter, most AAA publishers') problems aren't because of backwards compatibility. They are due to straight up greed and mismanagement. Removing backwards compatibility would not really fix anything. In fact, you would probably just see a lot more unneeded "remasters" as a result of this.
