They're still going to do text articles for every product, and he does 100% agree that that would be the preferred medium for this, but many people (again, according to him) just won't read it at all and want it in some kind of video format.

quantity over quality. Why should it matter if those videos aren't going to make money? His other content does, so why doesn't he use that to bankroll the labs? add on the fact that he fills videos with sponsors

I wonder why I'm suddenly being logged out sometimes.. It's only happened 2-3 times, but that's still too many.

I don't know. The Labs is a massive endeavor, but that's the best I got. I have no idea what their budget looks like. I feel though like if Linus was really being that dishonest about the cost of everything though and was just cheaping out for no reason, his team would have said something, big time.

Is your IP changing? Check your cookies just before you come here as well to make sure they aren't getting deleted for some reason.
  • @ Vendor-Lazarus:
Neither should be happening. I'm still logged into other places, I haven't changed location/IP, and I don't delete cookies from here. Weird.

    sublime
  • @ Kingoffrogs:
@Battousai i play EU4 bioshock and the original 3 hitman games on my potato PC, fuck modern games.
  • @ Vendor-Lazarus:
You can play plenty of modern games with a potato PC too. Many indies. Although most are eternal EA sadly. But yeah, not many can live up to the golden age games of '95 to '05.
  • @ Vendor-Lazarus:
Do you only like GSG's, or do you like 4X as well? SOTS, SEIV, DW, IG2, etc?
  • @ Arnox:
On Wednesday I'll be leaving for a bit but still checking in. Should be back next Wednesday. Hopefully in time to see XF finally release v2.3 proper so we can switch over to that.

Not going to debate if developing and selling cheats for multiplayer video games is righteous or not. But it is somewhat refreshing seeing concern expressed over this case potentially setting yet another precedent for video game companies to stamp out projects they disapprove of.
  • @ CharlieTheStooge:
For what it is worth AimJunkies said they are going to appeal the ruling. While I do not know about AimJunkies specifically some providers of cheats have had investors or other external funding as a business.
  • @ CharlieTheStooge:
    > At one point in mid-2022, with Bungie's suit pressing, AimJunkies posted a press release on its site that it had been purchased by "Blome Entertainment," a Ukrainian firm
  • @ CharlieTheStooge:
Lmao. Not even registering a domain for 'Blome Entertainment'. Of course a domain registered just before issuing the press release would be suspicious too.

  • @ Arnox:
The downloads are back up it looks like due to this being a very obvious case of a copyright troll.
  • @ Arnox:
Also what is that forum? lol It's sooo fucking clunky.
  • @ Vendor-Lazarus:
  • @ Arnox:
Yeah, I saw that from MVG. How funny is it though that Nintendo's legal team is so unprofessional that their notices actually look like poorly typed troll notices.
  • @ CharlieTheStooge:
I remember when the GMod take-downs happened there was some doubt of their authenticity because of them being sent from the domain 'mm-nintendo.com and not 'nintendo.com'. However the former is registered with MarkMonitor which is an invite-only domain registrar. So unless MarkMonitor were compromised it was legitimate. Best explanation for the discrepancy is they either outsource or have a dedicated department for take-downs. :p
