Erin Dies Alone Full Comic Archive

Fiction Erin Dies Alone Full Comic Archive 2025-03-24

For those who don't know, Erin Dies Alone is a comic about a cute girl in almost total isolation and her hallucinations. She plays videos games to pass the time. Comic shenanigans, humor, and drama ensue.

Back during the glory days of the Escapist gaming website, this was a comic made by writer Grey Carter and artist Cory Rydell (who were also the creators of the comic, Critical Miss). If I recall correctly, EDA never really got super popular, but at least for me personally, the comic was something rather special and endearing. Unfortunately though...

During the comic's development, the Escapist started suffering serious financial issues along with the entire Escapist team going through internal arguments, and as a result, many members of the original Escapist staff quit or were laid off. EDA was one casualty of that. The comic carried on for a little bit, but without any funding, began to peter out until updates to it finally stopped entirely, leaving the comic without a proper ending to this day.

As the years went by, it got harder and harder to actually read the damn comic even if one wanted to what with the original website that hosted it shutting down and the Escapist site breaking old links. With my love for this comic, I found this rather unacceptable and decided to begin an effort to gather together the entirety of the comic and make all of it available to the public once again.

For this, I had to use Cory Rydell's site along with heavy usage of archive.org to recover all the comics at their highest resolutions, the comic titles, and any other art and information I could. Cory Rydell's site had most of the comics, but I don't know what happened when he was uploading them as some of the comics didn't have dialogue filled in at all, so I had to use archive.org pretty often as a backup source. And sometimes, archive.org didn't archive the damn comic correctly, so I had to play find-the-working-link sometimes as well.

Regardless, it's all here now and available for anyone to see and read. Even though the comic is not finished, I would still highly recommend anyone to give it a read. You should get through it all in a couple hours. And before I leave you guys, a fun fact. This comic got an honorable mention in my Top 6 Biggest Fucking Wake-up Calls in Fiction. But don't read that spoilered section if you haven't read the full comic yet as there are, obviously, major spoilers in there.

Erin Dies Alone is a dark comic wrapped up in some witty humor. Would recommend but I will warn it was never finished from what I can gather.
