It's here, guys. Finally. The uploading beta. First, what's new...

Changes:
= Changed the "Sanctuary-hosted files" category to "Preserved Files" and rewrote the description somewhat.
= Changed base server hardware and operating system for a more performant, stable, and secure experience.

Removals:
- Removed inbox for arnox@intosanctuary.com temporarily until it can be migrated over. Use fakeout0@yahoo.com for now.

Additions:
+ Added almost 4x our server data cap.
+ Added more CPU power.
+ Added more RAM.
+ Added MUCH more disk space. We now have close to 8 terabytes of capacity.
+ Added entire Upload Rules section to the site rules page.
+ Added Uploaded Files Discussion sub-forum to the Site and Community Discussion sub-forum category.
+ Added Copyrighted Material Blacklist.
+ Added "Uploader" usergroup, gave uploading permissions to such, and also implemented a banner for them.
+ Added User-Uploaded Files category to the Downloads section.
+ Added Cinema, Fiction, Games, Music, Game Mods, Game Utility, Sounds, Non-Fiction, Videos, Encrypted, Miscellaneous, Source Code, Network Utility, Productivity, and System Utility prefixes for all uploads.
+ Added upload reviews and ratings.

Notes: The first thing you'll want to do is head over to our rules page and look at the new uploading rules. Obviously, those will be pretty vital to know. The second thing for me to talk about is that, once again, I couldn't find a way to give users the ability to make their resources visible only to them. So, as a stopgap (although I guess this needed to be implemented anyway), I added the Encrypted prefix so encrypted files could be filtered out of the list of downloads. A hot tip for you though is you can """encrypt""" the file with the most quick and dirty protection by simply messing with the file extension or maybe even getting rid of it entirely. This isn't going to stop even a somewhat determined examiner, but if you really don't need the full protection that encryption offers for whatever reason, it will do nicely.

And lastly, the blacklist. The story behind that is, after thinking some more about all those damn exceptions we made and then thinking of more exceptions that needed to be made, I decided to just get rid of the entire copyrighted material restriction almost entirely and instead simply have it be to where if an original creator wants to have something taken down, they can talk to us (the Sanctuary staff) and we'll see if we can work something out. Seems to be the best of both worlds and also a much more elegant solution.

Anyway though. Again, thank you to all who have supported us through this. You've all been amazing. <3 Oh, and again, FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT MADE A POST YET ON SANCTUARY, DO SO NOW BEFORE THE 1ST OF JULY OR ELSE YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE PURGED. Of course, you can just sign up again if you want to, but it'd probably be a lot easier to just make a damn post already. lol

I tried to upload a .webm, it said it wasn't one of the allowed extensions. I could easily convert it to a different format, but this seems like silly restriction for the website to need to "support" the filetype.

Whoops. Fixed. Yeah there may still be a few popular filetypes I forgot to add in. I don't think XF has a way to just allow all filetypes, dumbly enough. If anyone gets blocked again due to filetype nonsense, let me know.

UPDATE: I have just found this: https://lutish.com/store/single-resource-user-limits.9/

This will basically allow people to hide their uploads from everyone who isn't Sanctuary staff. It looks like it also allows an uploader to specify which users can view the upload. At the moment, as mentioned, we have to disguise the extension of a file, put it in a password protected zip, or just go all the way and encrypt the file altogether to hide files from others. This would basically be a much more convenient and secure (at least compared to just changing the file extension) way to allow users to hide files.

So... Why haven't I put it to use? Well, it's $10. Not super much, but even so, times are a little tough right now. If anyone wants it, I'll pay for it, but otherwise, I'll just leave it alone.

This is very exciting, and I'm not even sure I'm going to use it. Thank you for setting this up, Arnox!
