Honestly, I can't think of a single reason to get an Intel chip now. AMD has been running right over them in every way.Yeah, I'd been hearing that there were security issues, but I didn't really care enough to investigate further honestly.
i got errors at imgur and while trying to upload here, both said it timed out. but it's ok, i just have a solid black background at the moment (i've normally got a folder of wallpapers that rotate randomly every 10 minutes but i was feeling bad one day and just set it to black, i'll probably change it back soon), and the xfce desktop environment. since everything is accessible in the applications menu, i don't have any shortcuts on the desktop. i have a two monitors at the moment so it was a little wide. i miss my third monitor (letting my partner borrow it, it's still mounted on my desk but our desks are side by side so it's turned towards them and hooked up to their computer)
a failing GTX 1070. i got it as a hand-me-down from a friend a few years ago when my R9 290X stopped working suddenly and i've had nothing but trouble with it since. my main screen randomly turns off after logging in (i have to open my graphics settings on the other monitor, turn the primary off, wait for the "are you sure?" dialog to count down to zero and revert changes, then it works), and a few of the games i want to play crash constantly (didn't have that issue with the old card), usually just crashes to desktop but sometimes it causes a kernel panic.
it must have been a temporary issue. i'm using the tor browser at the moment. not sure if it'll be able to be opened fullscreen or if it's locked to 800x800 but if this doesn't work how i expect it, i'll just drop a direct link to the imgur post in an edit

good to know! i should be past that now / by the time i would post another image elsewhere
i'm use to running multiple applications on one screen, so i've just been careful about where my cursor is and what i'm clicking on. if i REALLY wanted to close something quickly i'd just mash the alt+F4, but thankfully i'm never in that much of a hurry
