telling me my Twitter account got suspended. Rightttt... The site account that hasn't been touched in literally months.

Just a reminder. DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS IN ANY EMAILS EVER. If an attacker can redirect you to their poisoned page, they can do some shit.

Anyway. Doing a Whois lookup reveals the domain shown in the link in the email was created on the 22nd of March. I have a small suspicion that it was KF, but who knows.

eh, I would think that gone are the days where simply clicking on a link would give you malware. The trick nowadays is to fool you into thinking that you're logging into a site, when they just steal your username and password.

I once saw a reasonably recent YouTube video where this guy wanted to know how easily someone could get his personal details, so he consulted with someone from DEFCON and gave him full permission to try and get in. And he did get in. And the major catalyst for that was the consultant sending him a fake email with a malicious link that invisibly downloaded a tracking program to his machine.

After watching that, I never clicked on a single email link again.

Well, that tracking program should be caught by most virus scanners. There's other ways he should have been protecting himself.
