Going to the beach!

Heading out on Friday. I swear, the coast is in my blood. Well, coasts and sleepy forest towns. But yesh. Oregon's got some of the best beaches.

Seconded. I could get my shoes to squeak on the sand there. It also was so fine and smooth it belonged in a hour glass.

The Beach is weird for me. I generally don't want to go to any Beach on the Ocean. Lakes and stuff are cool, I was even at one yesterday, even went out in a little e-boat.

But when I was 5 I almost got pulled out...so fuck the ocean.

Though I am currently visiting B.C. which does have some lovely beaches.

Not a fan of either sun-bathing or regular bathing. I burn waaay to easily. I am after all a blonde/strawberry blonde/red (head/beard) night-owl.. ,)
I could enjoy myself on the beach though, properly encapsulated in full-length clothing. With either metal-detectoring or rockhounding. Or just relaxing and..enjoying the view. ^^

So, question, do you not enjoy the bathing (in water) because of the burning up or are those seperate issues?

Both!
The water amplify the effects of the sun, and I don't like the feeling of not knowing what's underneath my feet.
If I've got a cyclops (have to cover my nose and eyes) and light, I actually enjoy water. I am a Pisces after all. ^^

Both!

It's a similar feeling for me. Apart from the whole almost drowning thing, I just don't really trust beaches on the open ocean. Too many dangerous creatures that like hiding in the sand of a beach.

With a lake around here, the worst that can happen is that a particularly big fish touches me...or you drown because of the plants growing underwater...but I don't go to places where that's an issue, especially since swimming there tends to be illegal anyway.

Not sure what I would do on a beach if I were to ever go there... Sitting around on the beach all day doesn't sound that fun and swimming in murky seawater doesn't sound like much fun either, I prefer swimming in pools.


Maybe a hike along the coast could be fun though...

The last time I went to the beach I was Kayaking so much that when I got home my whole body sored. And not only that I caught a common cold.

I just basically got home feeling like utter shit. Never going to that beach again.

Kayaking as a beach activity? Sounds like that could be fun, minus the aching muscles and catching a cold.

Went kayaking back in high school once, but we kayaked down a river rather than in the ocean / a lake.
