Another six-star movie... And at first glance, it certainly doesn't seem like it, but holy fuck, guys. I'm not kidding here. This movie is practically FLAWLESS. I had already seen this movie before, and I did think it was good, if a little too off the wall for its own good, but on second viewing, EVERYTHING clicked. Everywhere. All at once. And it was and is absolutely glorious. From the acting, to the SFX, to the plot, to the plot underneath it, to the plot underneath THAT. Yes, this movie goes at least three layers deep, but even if you only considered the very surface level of the movie, it's still a great movie. It never talks down to the audience, but it also doesn't sacrifice any of its entire vision.

I can't get into it any more without going into spoilers, but honestly, I respect your guys' intelligence. And definitely don't feel bad if you don't... FULLY get it the first time viewing and/or if you're slightly weirded out by it. Just watch this fucking movie now. No matter who you are, young or old, skinny or fat, talented or a loser, watch this movie. Do it NOW.

Wait, do you actually want an answer to this or are you just being sarcastic? lol
I ask because I find that it didn't
Family values movie that you can't watch with the family unless everyone is onboard for fictional anal and talking about the irl threat of anal fissures

I didn't get the reason for this and the general weirdness in the movie either (though of course, I did personally find the scenes funny regardless) until the second viewing, and then after, it completely clicked. The reason for this and other weirdness in the movie in general is a giant-ass metaphor for how Evelyn Wang (and her father) sees her daughter's eccentricities and general youthful beliefs, whether they're "right" or "wrong". The movie writers here are taking us on a journey, yes, but also a journey through EVELYN'S perspective. And through Evelyn's perspective, the things her daughter does are dangerous, deviant, disrespectful, or maybe just plain old weird. At first, Evelyn thinks this weirdness needs to be stopped. These things need to be fought. Like it's some sort of war.

And not just her daughter, Joy. The things the modern world does. The people she encounters, sometimes on a regular basis. She is, at first, very haughty against a lot of it and even freaks out about Waymond's attempts to lighten things up with some silly googly eyes. And the thing is, she's learned most, if not all of this through her father.

As Evelyn begins to reach out to all the other "hers", this is a symbol for her beginning to expand her mind. And as she does so, she can start to connect back to her daughter and see through her eyes. And with that, Evelyn can begin to see through the eyes of all the different versions of herself as well. Everything, everywhere, all at once. And some of those versions and universal events include, yes, dildos, anal penetration, and hot-dog deep-throating.
