What difference does it make if they're Jewish or not? If they're a shitty person, they're a shitty person.

Some people are bad individuals. Sometimes, however, these bad individuals work together. Sometimes, these alliances are on the basis of race.

To be serious, it's most likely a sub-culture phenomena. Stating the positive ones, I think Black parents push their children to the athletic profession. Asian parent to maths/STEM. Indian parents to IT. And Jewish parents to finance/lawyers. Simple as. Then there's nepotism of course, and perhaps other factors as well. While I do think there's a group or two more or less "in control"/pullings strings, it's most likely due to old money and old connections using established influence to steer events in a way that they can maintain their power and life-style.

Not based on race, and perhaps even having divided up the world, but with tentative alliances and "cold wars" between regions. Think Mafia Families but even larger, and even more hidden.

I'm fairly certain this is just the old stereotype of Jews being greedy and money obsessed, which as most stereotypes are based on exaggerated truths. Jews in banking and finance comes from the middle ages, when christians were forbidden by church law from lending money and the Jews were barred from owning land and or joining traditional trade guilds. Hence a lot of jews became money lenders as an economic activity in order to survive, and voila a banking and finance system from this was born eventually. This is of course massively simplified, but yeah it all comes down to an evolution of this into prominent modern financial institutions.

Having a video downloaded is such a better experience than watching it on youtube! I've been watching this 34 hour full game playthrough over the course of several days. I just need a better webm player instead of using my browser

Yeah but you don't get notifications of new videos from creators you're subscribed to, you can't make or view comments, and you don't get video recommendations. So it's a niche use for me.

  • @ Houseman:
I use none of those features anyway lol.

  • @ Houseman:
I don't follow recommendations, I don't 'hit the bell' for notifications. I don't doomscroll shorts, I go to their page to see if they've posted a new video, and if there's nothing new I log off.

XD Hey, recommendations are really good for finding new music. It has its uses.

  • @ Arnox:
But yeah, I hate that "SUBSCRIBE AND HIT DA BELL" spam that is in, it seems, EVERY fucking video. Like I'm some sort of toddler that can't remember where the subscribe and bell button are located.

It's because most people don't actually engage with the videos besides watching it, unfortunately for content creators on something like Youtube in order to be picked up by the algorithm and to actually maximize profits they need people to do the whole "like, comment, subscribe" thing or the whole system is simply stacked against them. So yeah, even on content creators that typically don't do that kind of thing eventually they might have too, hell I've even seen some breaking out the metrics like "Guys 60% of my viewers are not subscribed, so if you could it would massively help the channel."
    Link
  • @ Vendor-Lazarus:
Indeed. I've even seen "comment/like for the algo" and such.
