I found mention of this book as I was idly reading through a text file in the TOTSE backup I, as of this writing, have just uploaded to Sanctuary. It also mentioned another book, Ninja 2000, that looked pretty fun, but regardless, I checked this one out specifically and my, oh my. I think I might have found almost the holy grail of homemade high explosives. Easy to obtain. Not well known. Super easy to make. High explosive power. Pretty insensitive but should go off when sensitized and detonated with a fired bullet. It IS anticipated to be mildly carcinogenic though so make sure to work with it in a well-ventilated or outdoor space, and sensitivity will go up as it gets hotter. It is also somewhat expensive at around $100 a gallon as of this writing.
It can be sensitized and empowered with ammonium nitrate, but I'd generally steer clear of getting AN as it's a very well-known explosive precursor with pretty much no valid reason for the lay person to purchase it if you're not a chemist, manufacturer, or a damn farmer.
