This is NOT a TTFN. We are NOT shutting down so don't worry about that. That being said, I do have to start asking some timely questions now.
1. AI, in its unholy fuckery, is now starting to give every script kiddie and scammer instant access to evolving malware. Malware is finding holes in software at an extreme rate. Anti-virus solutions are having problems keeping up and Linux distro maintainers are having problems with the classic way of doing security patches because the process of shipping out security patches is starting to be not fast or private enough. And why am I bringing this up? Because we are a file hoster, and the last fucking thing I wanna see, if we get popular, is a mass of submissions with embedded code to hijack session tokens. I may need to start restricting user upload permissions.
2. The world is starting to fall into cataclysmic times and I'm not sure where it's going. This could be very good, or very bad. Maybe both. First, COVID hit. Then it was the AI crisis. And now we're entering a crisis of mass surveillance and censorship. If I start advertising this site again and we get popular, then we WILL get into hot water sooner or later with some government shitheads who want to either arrest me for "terrorist activities" or (if we're lucky) merely try to have us shut down. My identity is pretty damn concealed on the internet, but with enough state power, it would be perfectly possible to find me. And after seeing the insanely corrupt court proceedings of Keonne Rodriguez... They would absolutely try to fuck up my life. This world is now being run by corrupt and greedy billionaires who want to secure their places of power.
So...
I'm asking you guys now. Should we resume mass advertising for Sanctuary, or should we just leave the site in maintenance mode for now and keep it as obscure as possible?
