How to Shut Down Drone Surveillance and Attacks

Did you know you can make drones go bye-bye? You don't even need to crack them. Unless the drone is completely autonomous (in which case, it's pretty much a fancy missile at that point), they should be able to be brought down by signal jamming or with a laser, and there are a few ways you can do this.

1. GPS Jamming

Many drones use GPS as a way to navigate through areas. Jam that signal with any good GPS jammer and the drone will spaz out and probably crash.

2. Frequency Jamming

Be aware that the FCC does NOT like radio frequency jamming, generally for good reason, and they will get on your ass in a big way if you do this, so if you try this, then you better make sure it's truly needed. You'll need an FM transmitter that transmits at the same frequency as the drone in order to do this. Try 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 5.8 GHz first, but if that doesn't work, then try 27 MHz, 35 MHz, 40 MHz, and 433 MHz.

3. Electromagnetic Pulses

You can try out a strong enough electromagnetic pulse gun, though at range, it may be quite difficult to make one that goes that far out.

4. Anti-Drone Drones

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em... By flying another drone right into the target. That or you can use something like a huge net or long string dangling from your drone to catch and bind up the motors.

5. Killing the Camera

This won't necessarily bring down a drone at all, and it's fiddly, but if all you care about is killing a drone's surveillance, then you can use pretty much any laser pointer and aim it directly at the drone's camera lens.

You can also just do drone spoofing, but that would require cracking into the drone, so it's not brought up as an option here. Not in this specific thread anyway.
