I think it would be even worse..then they would do absolutely everything to make their current time the absolute best they can. i.e.luxurious and lavish. corruption ahoy.

No, what would be more fair is having them live like regular 9-5 worker for the rest of their lives. That would increase the chances that the majority of the population would get it better, through legislation.
