Selling Terabytes of Data

I've been seeing peeps selling hard drives bundled with terabytes of media for years now.
Games, movies, shows, anime. Music always gets the shaft, no one sells that shit.
Oh, and audio books. Those fuckers in bulk are nonexistent.

$1.9K for 48TB - lol@GOG Games included

I'm a big fan of this highly illegal phenomenon. Preservation aspect is a plus.

Leeching a 10TB+ torrent costs. Takes time, internet, electricity and the read/writing will wear down the drive.
I'd buy data for the convenience. Would you?

I'd definitely consider it... IF I could actually verify that all the files are safe. Which I can't. So I guess I gotta do it all manually.

It's kinda opportune that you bring this up though since I actually just started my games archive about a month ago to go along with the XP7 Productivity Pack I already built out. I'll probably post a thread enumerating all the software and games I have saved. Some of it was a REAL fucking pain in the ass to get and to verify, too. >_> "Oh, does this have viruses? Does this have all the DLC? Oh, this game should be compatible with XP unless it's the 64-bit version- WHOOPSIE, it is. But this version has all the manuals and art. Well, maybe I can find it on My Abandonware. Does this come with the dedicated server? Oh, here's a verified upload on The Pirate Bay! That has zero seeders now..."

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Oh, as to music, it's SOO subjective, man. And there's SOOOO much of it. Like, damn. It's no wonder barely anyone even tries.

depends what. if its playstation/nintendo roms, maybe. At the same time, it's easy enough to just pirate the titles i want rather than buy a vast collection of crap i'm not interested in/don't care about.
same applies to anime, movies, etc

How could you possibly ever listen to 900TB of music?
You do not even try to listen to it all. You just explore it.

My parents were extremely fond of reading and had about 12k books in their collection. Crazy, I know, but they had a big house and inherited a lot of books from the extended family. I don't think anyone ever read all of the books, but most books were read at least once by someone in the family. Exploring the library as a kid meant that I could browse and search and look for treasure. Once I found something I liked, there was usually more of the same kind nearby. Everyone in my house read, we talked about books and made recommendations to each other. Surely the same thing applies to music? If you have an enormous and well organized collection (organization is key!), you can explore and search. Even if you never get around to sample everything, you will find everything you need. Contrast with having a mediocre collection if you find something that is ok, but not exactly gold, there may be nothing in the close vicinity that suits you better - so you just move on entirely, and miss the buried gold.
