Turn 15

Stepping outside (finally) from the castle, you're all quickly greeted from behind by the same mysterious person who set you all free. "Ahh... Good. I see you didn't have much trouble making it out of that hell. But then, I suppose we all know who we are now, don't we." As the man stepped into the light, revealing his face, Elijah and Friend blinked in surprise, recognizing him. Cresee, seeing who this man was, seemed to immediately light up with joy.

"Ohhhhhhhh! It's him," she squealed, "The one I know!" She ran over and hugged him tight, but the hooded man looked bewildered at this as he looked down at her.

"Who is this," the man asked. "I never met her before in my life. How did she-"

"Oh, don't you remember," the girl said in a now surprisingly low and smooth voice. "Surely you remember the one you fucked..." As she said this, several things happened at once. The first thing that happened was a pair of shiny blue steel chains slowly rose from the ground behind the man and, in a single second, wrapped around his neck and pulled him back down to the ground, choking him. After that, she then swiftly ripped away a green emerald amulet that was around the man's neck and tossed it aside, it landing close to where all three of you were standing.

Cresee looked coldly down to the now writhing man before she summoned a blue steel sword into her right hand. With a small gesture the chains loosened around his neck finally and the man gasped and coughed hoarsely. "I knew you were here but it was taking way too long to find you- Nah uh uh uh~" She quickly pressed her sword lightly against his belly to stop his sudden attempt to free himself. "You're not going anywhere, you little pest. I had to crack and shake this little pocket universe just to make you appear." She then reached down into her shirt to pull off a hidden amulet she too was wearing around her neck before tossing it idly onto the man. As she did this, her appearance morphed a little, her young beautiful features kept, but her hair now becoming a deep flaming red. "With all that accounted for, there still remains one nagging but very important question. Why come here? Somehow, I don't think it was just because you missed the company of my sister's followers..."

She gestured again and two more chains wrapped around the man's arms, binding them tightly to the ground. With that, she knelt down and ruffled through his personal effects before soon finding what looked to be a small black book. "Oh, look! One of father's journals," she said in mock surprise. "What a coincidence! I do wonder what's in it... " She then skipped to the very last written pages of the book, then began reading a passage out loud. "I cannot bear to use this spell against my own daughter. I don't even know why I made it. I know she will come here and probably kill me if I do not, but perhaps... It would be better for me to die than her. I'll love them always, even to the very... End." She sighed a heavy shuddering sigh as she closed her eyes along with the book, a single tear going down her face.

You all now know that Cresee was actually Kara in disguise all this time. You also know that the emerald amulet laying just a few feet away from you all is a teleportation amulet that will get you out of this breaking universe. There is enough space and enough time right now for all three of you to quickly retrieve the amulet and escape to a random place in the normal universe with no issues whatsoever. This will end the game.

Before you all spring for that option though, you should know that there is another. If you want Kara dead for whatever reason, this is your chance. The journal clearly contains a spell that will allow Kara to be killed permanently. Right now, she is off-guard. You can surprise her, seize the book, and then rapidly teleport away to safety. If you all leave here without doing anything, Kara will destroy the journal and any knowledge of the spell right along with it. There may be another way to bring her down in the future, but it will be a pretty long time before that option will ever become available again.

BE WARNED THOUGH. If you decide to go for the book, there is a 50% chance individually that Kara will still manage to catch you, and then you will have a 100% chance of a swift death. If you die to Kara, you will be temporarily banned for a week.

Eljah, Friend, and Aizen are now at the Courtyard.

Turn 16

Once the group saws Kara's quick moment of weakness, like skilled predators, they immediately sprang for the metaphorical jugular. In this case, it was getting that blasted book and teleporting to safety at all costs before Kara could bring them down. What was in that book was too precious to be lost. They HAD to retrieve it, no matter what. But even with this opportunity, they had better not miss or else they would soon be left to bleed out in this dying universe, forgotten.

Elijah was first to the strike, but Kara saw this coming from the corner of her eye, and her instinctual speed was unbelievable, her sword immediately beginning to slice into the area that Elijah would be occupying. But Elijah was not without deep skills of his own. He swerved away from his approach at the last millisecond, gracefully dodged Kara's steely sword, and was able to snatch away the prize he aimed to get out of her hands. Friend, also seeing this strike coming, was able to effectively dodge out of the way. But... One of their group was very unfortunately not going to play ball with this plan. Aizen saw what was going on here and, thinking this was definitely not a fight he signed up for or agreed to, instead ran to the emerald amulet, shouting, "Good luck, guys," before snatching it up and teleporting away. And thus, teleporting away the rest of the group's chances of escaping this universe.

Once Aizen picked up the amulet and left them to die, there was a quick and massive earthquake and another huge and deafening KRRRAAACCCCCKKKKKKKK sound all around them. Kara, being the utter steel brick that she was, only lost her balance somewhat, but still retained control of herself and threw out a blue steel chain to wrap around Elijah's neck and pull him back to her. The chain soon found purchase on the off-balance Elijah and yanked him back to Kara, making him land on his back, but still holding the book. Then, suddenly mystified, Kara quickly looked around the Courtyard.

"Did one of your group just betray you... ?" Kara questioned.

Elijah - Attempts to grab the Journal - Rolls a 2 with a d2, succeeds - Takes the Journal from Kara
Friend - Attempts to dodge Kara's sword - Rolls a 2 with a d2, succeeds - Dodges the strike
Aizen - Runs to and grabs emerald amulet - No roll needed - Obtains emerald amulet
Aizen - Teleported out of pocket universe
Elijah - Attempts to dodge Kara's chain - Rolls a 1 with a d2, fails - Caught with chain, pulled back to Kara

This is not over.

Turn 17

Kara looked cooly down to Elijah as he was desperately trying to read the journal. "So be it then," Kara said, "It matters not to me what you servants of Kraos do to each other." She reached down and ripped the journal out of Elijah's hands. But right as she did this, the general got up and, with fiery strings of white hot magic, melted through the chains around him. With that, using a telekinetic blast, he threw the hot pieces of metal every which way. "Should have killed me... " He muttered to Kara as he panted, clearly already tired from such a tremendous exertion of will.

With that, Friend tried one more desperate tactic to stall Kara, but in her stressed state, she was not successful in affecting Kara with her blinding spell and Kara didn't even pay it any mind as she stared at the man who had just shredded her own chains apart. "So, what is it going to be now, tool," Kara asked the general. "Don't even you think this is getting tiresome? You've lost. It's done. Accept your-" But before she could finish her sentence, the general dashed to Kara and made a grab for the book, but Kara pulled it away from his grasp with incredible speed before he could get there.

But... It was a trick as he actually merely wished to close the distance between him and Friend. He had secretly charged another spell, this one utterly fatal to him, but it would at least ensure that one other person besides Kara and the traitor would escape this crumbling universe. Immediately after he reached Friend and pressed his hand upon her shoulder, he threw up a very basic shield. It wouldn't last long at all and Kara would breach in a matter of seconds, but the general only needed a moment longer.

"Listen," the general said, but he faltered as sword and chain were tearing through that shield in record time. "We have only seconds. I will not survive. Find the traitor. Slaughter him. Then stop Kara however you... However you can. May you have better luck than I and us all." He closed his eyes then and cast the spell that would take from him all the energy he had left within and teleported Friend away to a safe location out of the collapsing pocket universe.

As Friend was teleported in a flash of blinding light, the general screamed as the spell took from him everything. When it was done, he was merely a lifeless husk collapsing into the sand, no more, the shield fading along with him.

"Hm... " Kara muttered as she turned back to the chained up Elijah, staring at him as she thought of what to do next. Another powerful earthquake shook through the planet and, what seemed to be tiny black cracks in the very fabric of reality began to open here and there, but Kara stood there, utterly unphased by any of this. As she was thinking, she held up the journal in her right hand, looking at it. Then, she clenched her hand around it, sucking every little bit of heat out of the object, freezing it into a practical ice cube. Then, with her steel grip, she crushed the frozen book into little pieces and threw them to the sand.

She looked at Elijah then and rested her boot on his leg with a sword summoned into her right hand. "There remains but one more thing that needs to be decided. And how this goes is going to be entirely up to you. If this is how you wish to die, then I will happily grant your wish, but I am not ignorant of what my sister has done to you all... Are you listening to me, servant? Who you were before all of that... It is still inside you. You can make your own path. You do not need to be a slave any longer. I know you'll probably never follow me, and I don't think I'd trust you anyway. But I think I can at least trust you enough to let you go, especially now that the journal has been destroyed. You saw that with your own eyes. There is no point anymore in continuing this little campaign against me. So... Do as you will. Become truly independent and decide for yourself.

Kara then, with a gesture, undid all the chain bindings upon Elijah and, flipping the sword around in her hand, offered it to him.

Friend - Attacks Kraos with Blind - Rolls a 1 with a d2, fails - Kraos resists Blind and has 20 HP left
General - Attempts to grab Journal - Rolls a 1 with a d2, fails - Fails to take Journal from Kara
General - Casts a shield over him and Friend using ring - No roll needed - Shield covers Friend and General for 20 HP
General - Casts Teleport on Friend - No roll needed - Teleport drains 30 HP from General
Friend - Teleported out of pocket universe
General - Killed by own Teleport spell
Combat concluded - Enemies no longer hostile - No players downed

Turn 18 will be a Game Set, regardless of the decision made.

Turn 18 (END)

As Elijah got up from the ground and cautiously accepted the blueish steel sword from Kara, the rage within him bubbled up against all those who had both left him behind and betrayed him. "Get me the fuck out of here right now," He said simply. At this Kara smiled a little and nodded.

"Understood," she said, before placing her hand on his shoulder and teleporting them both away to separate locations outside the pocket universe with an emerald-studded item she already had on her person.

-

As the minutes ticked by, the integrity of the pocket universe grew to be less and less. Some people, guards and former prisoners alike, ran out of Xiada in sheer panic as the destruction of the universe began to reach a fever pitch. Massive cracks in the universe began to shred through geologic and man-made structures alike. The sky began to darken as the atmosphere billowed out into nothingness and the sun began to tear itself apart before reforming into an amorphous mass and then tearing apart again with the cracks in reality breaking apart into shards. Matter began to return to its most basic forms as molecules were pulled apart and now sucked into a incomprehensively large sphere of light, slowly filling up the entire pocket universe before finally detonating the glass orb that contained it all in a huge fiery explosion and completely obliterating the castle that contained it.

Xiada was no more.
