Why don't you like playing shooters?Kaleion said:That was pretty badass, makes me wish I still liked playing shooters.
Find them fun for like 5 minutes and get tired of them afterward, nothing against them but they can't engage with them for long, even stuff like Max Payne 1 & 2 that I used to love not even all that long ago (4 years give or take) bores me quite fast now.Arnox said:Why don't you like playing shooters?Kaleion said:That was pretty badass, makes me wish I still liked playing shooters.
Maybe they're too easy now for you?Kaleion said:Find them fun for like 5 minutes and get tired of them afterward, nothing against them but they can't engage with them for long, even stuff like Max Payne 1 & 2 that I used to love not even all that long ago (4 years give or take) bores me quite fast now.
No, if anything I'm worse at them due to lack of practice, my guess is that I just haven't been in the mood for them in a while.Arnox said:Maybe they're too easy now for you?Kaleion said:Find them fun for like 5 minutes and get tired of them afterward, nothing against them but they can't engage with them for long, even stuff like Max Payne 1 & 2 that I used to love not even all that long ago (4 years give or take) bores me quite fast now.
Well, that's strange, because if you really enjoyed the video in the OP, you should have a desire to play FPS' as well.Kaleion said:No, if anything I'm worse at them due to lack of practice, my guess is that I just haven't been in the mood for them in a while.
It might be something to do that when I loved shooters I liked the slower more tactical ones that basically no longer exist, such as Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon as well as the console FPS such as Goldeneye, Timesplitters and XIII and both of those styles of shooters died out, I mean I've liked other shooters but I was never into the Arena Shooter style and things like Max Payne were an exception rather than the rule, and I think that's it, it just got old, the kinds of shooters that I like don't have new versions and going back to what I've already played isn't currently appealing and while Doom looks cool I was never into Doom and Quake so this new mix of old and new doesn't really incorporate the old things that I enjoy, so shooters and I currently don't mix, however I'm sure that if I got my hands on an old shooter of that style that I never played such as No One Lives Forever I would enjoy that but I haven't and I neither feel like replaying or getting into Doom style stuff.Arnox said:Well, that's strange, because if you really enjoyed the video in the OP, you should have a desire to play FPS' as well.Kaleion said:No, if anything I'm worse at them due to lack of practice, my guess is that I just haven't been in the mood for them in a while.
Try Far Cry 2 or Far Cry 3 (with Ziggy's Mod) then. Those are some of the best single-player tactical shooters IMO.Kaleion said:It might be something to do that when I loved shooters I liked the slower more tactical ones that basically no longer exist, such as Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon as well as the console FPS such as Goldeneye, Timesplitters and XIII and both of those styles of shooters died out, I mean I've liked other shooters but I was never into the Arena Shooter style and things like Max Payne were an exception rather than the rule, and I think that's it, it just got old, the kinds of shooters that I like don't have new versions and going back to what I've already played isn't currently appealing and while Doom looks cool I was never into Doom and Quake so this new mix of old and new doesn't really incorporate the old things that I enjoy, so shooters and I currently don't mix, however I'm sure that if I got my hands on an old shooter of that style that I never played such as No One Lives Forever I would enjoy that but I haven't and I neither feel like replaying or getting into Doom style stuff.Arnox said:Well, that's strange, because if you really enjoyed the video in the OP, you should have a desire to play FPS' as well.
I've already tried them, I find the Open World (Never really liked any Open World games to be honest, the only one I ever finished was GTA: Vice City) format of shooters to be boring, I liked the well-designed missions of old rather than this open-ended thing and I haven't liked modern linear shooters such as Call of Duty, my guess is that I might like something like Wolfenstein: New Order but it doesn't work on my PC, I think that for the moment I'm done with shooters.Arnox said:Try Far Cry 2 or Far Cry 3 (with Ziggy's Mod) then. My my, you're picky. Well, there's also Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Kind of hard though.Kaleion said:I've already tried them, I find the Open World (Never really liked any Open World games to be honest, the only one I ever finished was GTA: Vice City) format of shooters to be boring, I liked the well-designed missions of old rather than this open-ended thing and I haven't liked modern linear shooters such as Call of Duty, my guess is that I might like something like Wolfenstein: New Order but it doesn't work on my PC, I think that for the moment I'm done with shooters.
The Gauss Cannon is pretty beastly in Doom 4. Especially its Siege Mode.Chimpzy said:That's pretty cool.
Also, didn't know you could use the Gauss Cannon for jumping. As someone who spent quite some time mastering rocket jumping in Team Fortress, I'm kind of tempted to reinstall Doom and try it myself.
