I'm actually not too versed on mockumentaries really, so it was a very pleasant surprise to discover this one recently. Diane Morgan portrays the fictional journalist/investigator of Philomena Cunk. She goes to numerous locations, making tongue-in-cheek comments about history and joyfully wasting the time of a lot of (actual) experts. It's a pretty simple format and idea that works pretty well. What is actually pretty funny is you can just tell many of these experts were trying hard not to laugh at Diane's utterly absurd comments and questions at times. It didn't make me laugh all the time, but I think even the weaker jokes at least got a smile out of me. And the really good jokes had me fucking rolling. Surprisingly for a mockumentary, there's also a lot of actually good camerawork on display here with some beautiful locations too, so perhaps you can also get the show on blu-ray or equivalent in order to test out your latest TV/monitor.
The show consists of five episodes in total with each being about thirty minutes long. I think it works best when watched one or two episodes at a time, but you can do whatever you like of course. I don't see any police around.
