Does that mean jackbox games are out? How about another obscure shooter I can dig up?Arnox said:Alright, but I vote no boardgames or card games or boardgame/card game-likes. Unless it's D&D.
Shame on no boardgames as those are probably the most accessible to everyone and it would be nice to put Tabletop simulator to some use.Arnox said:Alright, but I vote no boardgames or card games or boardgame/card game-likes. Unless it's D&D.
I was specifically thinking about you when I offered Sunday. So far, we have not paid for a game we are playing, so don't worry about that.Kaleion said:Saturday never works for me due to D&D day (Seriously we normally play from 5 PM to 3 AM) and everyone knows that the player that doesn't show up is the worst player.
But sure if people want to do something Sunday I'm on board for whatever, though I normally wake up between 4 & 6 PM PST on Sundays.
I must add that if I don't own it I currently do not have the ability to buy online since my debit card doesn't work for online billing and I don't have a credit card, and to be honest I haven't corrected that because I would have purchased a lot of videogames, Mordekainen's tome of foes and Maze of the Blue Medusa now that it's back on print.... I might fix that just to get Maze of the Blue Medusa, that looks like it's worth getting in print, especially since before the reprint that was worth over $500.00 on eBay.

As for the D&D idea, if people are interested I might be willing to run it on Sundays, I was going to do a text only campaign on the Escapist a while ago and that kinda fell through but I wouldn't be opposed to the idea if enough people are interested, though I must admit that I would prefer to have voice chat and doing it over on Roll20 or something.
The problem with this, is that us Europeans can only play until 12 PM PST on Sunday. If we have to work on Monday.Signa said:I was specifically thinking about you when I offered Sunday.Kaleion said:Saturday never works for me due to D&D day (Seriously we normally play from 5 PM to 3 AM) and everyone knows that the player that doesn't show up is the worst player.
I could not sleep if necessary, I work in the afternoon on Monday anyway so ot wouldn't be a big deal.Vendor-Lazarus said:The problem with this, is that us Europeans can only play until 12 PM PST on Sunday. And counting 8 hours for Kaleion to sleep after 3 AM Sunday leaves...1 hour, in which we can play. ^^
I wouldn't want to deprive you of sleep, especially after a mentally exhausting game session.Kaleion said:I could not sleep if necessary, I work in the afternoon on Monday anyway so ot wouldn't be a big deal.Vendor-Lazarus said:The problem with this, is that us Europeans can only play until 12 PM PST on Sunday. Yeah, we do.Vendor-Lazarus said:We also need to decide on a game.
I'm thinking we really, really need to make these decisions well in advance.
Ha Ha. Good one. ..You are janking my chain/pulling my leg...right?Signa said:So I'm thinking Sunday at noon, PST. Any genre suggestions? Fps? Rts? Co-op rpg?
You mean Earth Defence Force 2025. ,)Arnox said:Yeah, we do.Vendor-Lazarus said:We also need to decide on a game.

Why don't we all just play EDF 4.1 with Houseman?
No, it's Earth Defense Force 4.1. It's a sequel to 2025 and it's the (actually pretty solid) PC port of the games. Unfortunately, it's $50 on Steam. And it's about 7 GB.Vendor-Lazarus said:You mean Earth Defence Force 2025. ,)
I heard you talking about it and tried to look it up. There was no such thing!
I managed to get there though, and looked at a lets play multiplayer session on youtube.
Looked fun. I'm game.
Now, how big is it..and where to acquire it?
7GB!? ..Sorry, too much for me. I wont be able to download that until next month.Arnox said:No, it's Earth Defense Force 4.1. Did I calculate the wrong direction? I thought that would have been in the evening for you instead of the am hours like the last few times.Vendor-Lazarus said:Ha Ha. Otherwise, point taken.
Ah, I see. No, you calculated it correctly. It's just, as I said above, that due to working on monday, I have to go to bed at noon/ 12 PM PST on Sunday.Signa said:Did I calculate the wrong direction? It really isn't a big deal but if you are crncerned I can get up early, I normally don't try on Sundays but I can do it, 6 hrs of sleep should be fine so even 9 or 19 AM pst should be possible.Vendor-Lazarus said:I wouldn't want to deprive you of sleep, especially after a mentally exhausting game session.Kaleion said:I could not sleep if necessary, I work in the afternoon on Monday anyway so ot wouldn't be a big deal.
it's just bad timing all around.
How is everyone's schedule from now until tomorrow 5 PM PST?
I can go without sleep now, since I have nothing scheduled until Monday 6 AM CEST (and counting 8 hours back).
We also need to decide on a game.

I love the idea of playing something on roll20 with you guys, but I'm not at all prepared for something like that this weekend. I think we should have that discussion another time outside of the "community game night" events. D&D is extremely time consuming, and even if you plan on doing a single session module, I consider it less interesting, because there is no room for story or character growth. A quick dungeon run in Neverwinter Nights makes more sense for that, and I've never even played that game.Arnox said:So we doing D&D then? Just a small caveat that I can't do voice chat.
I'm down for some D&D. I've even got a mic. Can't use it during night though.Arnox said:So we doing D&D then? Just a small caveat that I can't do voice chat.
Well I've only played on actual tabletop so I would need at least a week to prepare so I can find out how to use the virtual tabletops & prepare the maps and stuff, but sure I'd be on for that, as for voice chat well that's a shame because it does ease communication and makes everything faster, we could try text only but if you can get even a shitty mic that would be a lot better.Arnox said:So we doing D&D then? Agreed, there's some preparation on the technical side and gauging interest on what people would like to play, especially since I would prefer a campaign or a megadungeon and neither of those things are done in one night, plus I'd prefer to gauge interest for stuff that isn't D&D 5E before committing, after all maybe an OSR or some other system might be better suited, though Neverwinter Nights might not be a bad idea for game night, maybe even something like Torchlight 2 with the 8 player mod or something.Signa said:I love the idea of playing something on roll20 with you guys, but I'm not at all prepared for something like that this weekend. That's perfectly fine, though in that case it seems like text might be the way to go, since it seems like at least 2 members wouldn't be able to talk and so far I see 4 (Including myself) people interested, I might be able to get someone else from the people that were interested on the Escapist thing if we need a 4 player party, but though I was offering that it's something that would require a bit more planning and scheduling and again I might be able to cook something for next week but not this weekend.Vendor-Lazarus said:I'm down for some D&D. Oh, yeah. Keep in mind that it would be my first D&D session.
This dice roll has been tampered with!
Rolled 2d12+3 : 3, 2 + 3, total 8
Is everyone okay?Kaleion said:Due to an emergency D&D was cancelled for today so I'm actually going to be free from 4PM PST onwards if anyone wants to do something.
