Some fucker uploaded a torrent with all the AKROSS AMV contest submissions (175G, 2058 videos) and I've been giving them a watch
Looking into them turns out a majority of the videos are still hosted on their website

I have not clicked any of those links yet but I am going to assume that at least half of the AMV's are shonen with different fight scenes while using Linkin Park's: In The End. Youtube had so many of those AMV's back in the day.

While the contest is international. most of the users submit Russian language songs from what I've seen
I can't listen to such infamous songs and not think of an AMV I've associated it to - forever ruined
Youtube exploded with AMVs when Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace came out, still probably gets overused edit: lol
When they started flagging copyrighted video AMVs were massacred and the scene suffered, weebs gonna weeb though
