So I'm quite bored and I just saw a video about ancestry so I decided to ask you people what kind of ancestry do you have and what do you think of it?

As for myself, I was born and raised in México so as far as I care I'm Mexican, however my mother comes from the region of México city and the region of Jalisco, Tequila Jalisco to be specific, her family is very much part of the Tequila breweries since forever which in indicates descending from burgeois which means most likely some level of Spanish descent, she does like to brag about having Aztec ancestry but we really have no idea about that, the Tequila Jalisco ancestry we do have information about due to knowing those relatives from the side of her mother but the México city and Aztec stuff comes from the side of her father and we don't know much about that, I know she also claims to have some Muslim descent but never clarified where she got that idea from, however it is very common for people with descent from the iberic Peninsula to have Muslim ancestry so it is actually kinda likely.
As for my father's side, well from his father's side it is a bit clearer, he was actually a member of a rich family that owned a lot of land that they mostly used for agriculture in the region of Zacatecaz México who lost all of their land during the Méxican revolution, according to him he was a descendant from Spanish nobles who claim to be descendants from the Cid himself, of course all of this information comes from a man who was orphaned and lost his home at the age of 11 because of a raid to his home by the insurgent faction during the Mexican revolution, but assuming he is right most of his bloodline should be of Spanish descent with probably some other things mixed in, as for his mother, well that's kind off a mess, so she was actually born in the US and her father was an Englishman and her Mother French all we know is that her father murdered someone and they fled to México, nothing else is known as she actually hated talking about the topic so it really is anyone's guess what her ancestry is, for starters she never mentioned in which part of of the USA she came from so we don't know shit.

So that is my supposed ancestry which is generally very iffy as all information I know seems very unreliable.

My great grandfather did some genealogy research so those ancestors I can trace back to the 1500's and the noble knight family of XXX.
We still live in the same two places that those Noble Norwegian/Swedish Knight family of XXX did.
Since my family descends from a bastard out of marriage encounter with a "piga" (female farm help) it doesn't officially count and the line is considered dead.

I can't trace my mothers line any longer than to my great great grandmother, but since they also lived around the same region we do now, it's a pretty safe bet that I'm all Viking.

My mother's side is Canadian. My father's side is Irish or Scottish. Can't remember which one it is. My father has always been in love with the coast though, and he definitely passed that on to the rest of us.

First off, Muslim isn't a race. People confusing that causes a lot of problems when dealing with their bad behavior.

As for me, I'm a big mutt. There's french, German, polish, and I think a tiny bit of Hungarian in me too.

I can trace my family to all my great-great-grandparents, all of whom lived in Newfoundland. I don't know about further back.

However, one of my great-great-grandmothers might of been Mi'kmaq. My great-great-grandfather was believed to have had an affair with his Mi'kmaq serving girl. It is unknown if any children ever resulted from this.

You're related to Xander Cage?

My dad looked stuff up on Ancestry.com. We were farmers, and before that slaves, and that's where the records end. Maybe some Native American on the maternal side.

Speaking of famous ancestors, I know people that are desendents of Winston Churchill and Cassius Clay. Not the boxer, but the emancipationist that the boxer took his name from.

Half Belgian and the rest is a smattering of German, Austrian and Serb.

I'm assuming Kaleion meant Moorish, although that's not really a distinct ethnical group, but loosely refers to the muslim inhabitants of the Maghreb, Iberian Peninsula and some Mediterranean isles. If we're talking muslim ancestors from Spain, they were likely Arab or Berber.

Yep, I pretty much meant that, probably some sort of misunderstanding lost in translation and shit, I don't know we call them moros here and that they were originally from the middle East but that's as far as my knowledge goes.

No, it's the family of Porn of course!

Nah, I just crossed it out because I mentioned that where they lived, we still live.
Quite large counties, but better safe than sorry.

I'm a third spaniard, I guess.

The long story (And believe me this shit's long) is that my grandfather's family thought it would be a jolly good idea to get on that Spanish Civil War action.... on the losing side.

And then he fled, had a baby and here I am I guess.

I don't know much about the Spanish civil war. Was the losing side the retarded side like the American South?

According to my granddad both sides were retarded and both were backed up by corporate, religious and political interests looking to further their own agenda.

Nevertheless if you want the "official" history the losing side was the left-leaning side trying to fight for democracy and therefore are usually portrayed as the good guys.
