Putting the PS2 back compat. aside entirely, what exclusive games does PS3 even have that I'd want to play? Resistance? Halo almost crushes it into the ground. Ridge Racer? Burnout 3 is better and is fully backwards compatible on the 360. God of War? Ninja Gaiden makes it look like a side-show. Ratchet & Clank? That's pretty decent, but most of the good ones are on the PS2, and the third R&C did pretty much everything I wanted from an R&C game anyway. inFamous? Looks pretty repetitive. Gran Turismo? Forza Motorsport 4. Demon's Souls? I guess... Almost all the Dark Souls games though are on the 360 and the PC so that's barely a thing. LittleBigPlanet? Admittedly, there's no full equivalent for this game on the 360, but... Give me a damn break. It's a 2.5D platformer. Whoop-dee-doo. Might as well just play something on my Gameboy Advance SP. And finally... There's Uncharted. Which, I guess, is decent, but it looks like it has no replay value at all, and I'm not shelling out money just to play a mostly cinematic third-person shooter, no matter how well executed.

I guess that only leaves the PS2 back compat... The only other thing I can think of is that the PS3 will translate the PS2 video signals to HDMI for you, but I already have a really damn nice component to HDMI converter. So what the hell is the point of getting a PS3 even if it was a backwards compatible model? The PS2 seems to be where all the amazing exclusives are.

I was looking at some backwards compatible PS3 videos on YouTube, but then I had a thought that pretty much cured my entire desire to get any PS3. Except I already have a full phat PS2.
