When people see one little celebrity meme and everyone just automatically assumes they know them.

No, you don't know them, I don't know them, and chances are, we probably never will. Elon Musk isn't automatically a kewl quirky guy because he smoked a joint on a podcast. You don't know Elon Musk. You don't know Robert Downey Jr. You see only the surface. Prepared speeches and publicized scandals. Not what's really underneath. What's truly good or bad about them.

The same can be said about anyone, though I agree that celebrities have more of a facade than others.
However, you can never really know another person. There are always layers upon layers.
Even your own personality can be occluded from you.

I mean in reality we barely even know most people that we actually have contact with so believing you know a celebrity of any kind is kind off absurd.
