After a watch or two or ZFG's entertaining OoT Randomizer runs, I decided it looked like a ton of fun and decided to start it up myself. Now, way back when I was young, I used to have an OoT strategy guide that I would look at a lot, and of course I've beaten the game twice in the past, so I thought this shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I was wrong. It was a big issue. lol First I got stuck because I didn't have a bomb bag. (Still don't.) Found Zelda's Lullaby after cheating a bit by looking at all possible pit locations. And now I'm stuck again. I'll probably have to clear Jabu but damn. I think I scoured the entirety of Hyrule for items.

TL;DR - Booted up OoT Randomizer. Got fucked because I'm more of a newb than I thought. 10/10 would get stuck again.

You should do Link to the Past randomizer. Way more manageable. I know both games like the back of my hand and I do not want to start OOT. My mind absolutely boggles at the possibilities in OOT and where loot may appear.

Actually, I think this is much more fun despite the occasional getting stuck. Every item now actually feels awesome to get instead of just another notch in the story. Not only does it give you a rush of satisfaction to find an awesome item, a lot of them increase your combat output as well as unlocking additional areas for discovery and progress. LttP is probably the same, but 2D Zelda I guess just never appealed to me that much, and I don't know that game at all as I've never been able to play it when I was young, and when I finally was able to play it, I lost interest for it over the 3D Zelda games.

EDIT: Just found the Boomerang and Bomb Bag both. It's go time.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same. Though "story" is kinda lacking in LttP, since most of the dialoge is minimized so that you can focus on beating the game. I'm not sure how skippable the custscenes are in OOT, but I'd hope they were removed or something, since it's a big waste of time after a few randomizer runs.
