There is no justification for abortion

Well, maybe with two exceptions. In the case of rape or incest (less than 1% of abortions) or in the case that the mothers life is in danger should be the only exceptions. Honestly I’m shaky on the first, but that’s not what we’re talking about.

There is no moral or logical reasoning to justify abortion. Please, come at me with your best argument and I will tell you why you’re wrong.

I guess it's seen as much more cold for the mother to have a baby and then give it up for adoption rather than just abort it before the fetus has any development.

Life is only valuable because of the experiences a person gains. A baby has no experience and therefore nothing is lost.

But Dale's argument is that it is a loss because you are denying that baby that experience.

Arnox is correct, by ending the child’s life you deny them the chance of having those experiences. Your position could also be expanded on to justify infanticide. You don’t remember anything before 2(or any other arbitrary age) so if you die nothing is lost.

I got to agree with Dale here, and Arnox makes a good point. I will also say this as yes it could be personal information but ehh it works for this point, that I was let say early then most people. As why I said that is because and to add on the point of life experiences it can make a person. A life is still a life in my book, folks deserve a chance no matter how bleak it looks as life is stranger then fiction.

Man I’m disappointed. I thought I’d at least get to argue with someone. It is a good thing though. Abortion is just pure evil and there’s no justification for it.

Because the majority of women getting abortions are not exactly the pinnacle of responsibility.

Did you know that one year in New York, more black babies were aborted than delivered?

Did you also know that christians in the US are more likely to subscribe to the most useless of contraceptions, like abstaining (no sex before marriage), Coitus interruptus, and most of all not even talking about sex or having sexual education in school?

That doesn’t surprise me. Although abstinence is ideal we have to be realistic and remember what it’s like to be a hormonal teenager. I knew kids growing up who were so sheltered they only knew the man has the sperm and the woman has the egg.

You asked for my best argument, and I gave it. I can't help it that I generally agree with you!

I've heard arguments that sex education didn't actually help decrease things like teenage pregnancy or STDs. I'm sure one could look at a graph of teenage pregnancy before and after an implementation of sex education in a curriculum and see if the trend changes.

I just saw some interesting arguments online. What if the parent has significant genetic issues and doesn't want the kid to suffer the same? There are also complaints saying that even if the birth for health reasons becomes unviable, the government/insurance companies may still see the birth as viable because the body is still holding on to and developing the fetus. Linked directly with that, insurance may not cover abortions that would save the parent's life by simply pretending that the abortion is not needed, so they don't have to cover it.

Did you link to the right article? Because that doesn't say anything about sex education

Do you seriously not know who's preaching abstinence, circumcision, no sex before marriage, and are generally prudish?

Let's agree, for the sake of argument, that the religious are preaching all those things, and that this is unique to the United States.
We still have no data that sex education works better in other western countries, where they are not as religious. We also have no reason to believe that the apparent failure of sex education is because of religion.

If the parent has significant genetic issues that are that severe then they’re probably not fertile anyway. But besides that, it again circles back to it not being your decision to make. Maybe the child will grow up and overcome their health issues and live a fulfilling life. What if they even find a cure or treatment for said genetic issues?

Insurance companies will lie about whatever they can. I don’t think we can base anything off insurance.

You should read libido dominandi by e Michael jones

While the book may have its points, that being a slave to vices is not being free, being a slave to morals (or another book) doesn't make one free either. Being educated about something should allow one to make an informed choice. Education often being hijacked for propaganda is another topic.

Especially poignant with regards to the US's freedoms as it comes in direct opposition to the premise of this topic:
"the freest of people are they who are most friendly to murder."
Abortion being framed by some as murder.

I dunno man, I wouldn’t say being moral is exactly slavery. Sure there are times being moral is hard but that doesn’t make it any less morally right.

The more I learned about abortion the stronger I felt it was completely wrong and evil. It is murder no matter how you slice it.

Humans feel a constant pull between selflessness and seflishness. Too much of one or the other is bad. A good balance between the two can be found. Stability requires consistency. Consistency requires laws, whether spoken or not. Unfortunately though, laws that are not based on truth go right into enslavement territory.

being a slave to morals

Adhering to your moral standards seems like the opposite of slavery. Say your morals lead you to abstain from alcohol. There are a lot of pressures getting you to drink alcohol from advertisements and at social gatherings and the like. Many times, it's just you and your self-discipline vs the world. It would be all too easy to give in and adapt your morals to those around you.

But I'm talking about personal morals, and not, say, the moral standards imposed on you from others. Maybe you meant the latter.
