For those who don't know, in the US, specific drugs are scheduled by the DEA as forbidden. A research chem is, basically, a drug analogue. A drug that is, chemically, extremely similar to a DEA-scheduled drug.
Generally, I would highly advise that one avoid research chems due to major health concerns, but there are certain drug analogs such as 4-HO-MET that have a very extensive (~20 years) history of use backing them. Looking at this along with Erowid trip reports, one can at very least be reasonably sure as to the safety and efficacy of certain research chems. BUT... Buyer beware as always. Though a few chems may be reputable, they are still research chems. Sometimes, your best bet, safety wise, may, ironically, be with a scheduled drug, illicitly gotten, instead of a research chem, legitimately obtained. Alright then. You have been warned.
These specific websites were picked out based on years in operation and whether DuckDuckGo and Brave Search both recommended such sites. The first site was only suggested by one search engine, but wins in terms of sheer history and professionalism alone.
UPDATE: It turns out that while Chemical Collective and RealChems are pretty reputable, they also DON'T serve the U.S. or U.K. whatsoever, so if you're in those countries, I guess go fuck yourself? This has forced me to research at least one other viable research chems site that serves the US. And this was... Frustrating for a while. Both Brave search and DuckDuckGo were technically pulling up all kinds of sites that "served the U.S.", but more than half of them were shifty as hell and while you will probably won't be getting any laced drugs from them, you also probably won't be getting... ANYTHING. :) They're scam sites. But nevertheless, I did finally find at least one reputable place besides Cayman Chemical...

1. Cayman Chemical (https://caymanchem.com)
Established in 1980, this site is, by far, the most reputable and qualified supplier of research chems. Unfortunately, it's also, by far, the most expensive of the suppliers. Unless you got some fat stacks to burn, and/or are extremely paranoid about product quality and purity, you're probably better off looking at the other two suppliers on this list. They also sell normally scheduled drugs to the general populace without any license BUT... They are suspended in liquids like methanol, and thus, aren't safe for consumption.
2. Chemiverse (https://chemiverse.ca)
I stumbled upon these fellows via the Drug Buyer's Guide forums (Actually a cool little site. I'll have to explore them further and possibly add them to our official internet forums list in the BLTC section.) and was very encouraged by the small amount of feedback they have. Now, I emailed these guys and they say they have been in business since 2021. Looking at Internet Archive, the oldest legitimate snapshot of them is from around April of 2022, but whatever. It's to be expected that the first year of their business would go relatively unnoticed. ScamAdviser also gives them a good score. They also provide FTIR results from Get Your Drugs Tested. Note that this is not a perfect test but at very least no Fentanyl is detected in any of the samples and none of the results show up as red. And lastly, they were helpful enough to provide me with HNMR data (attached to this post) for their June 2026 batch of 4-HO-MET, one of the mainstay RCs. All in all, I'd say these guys are a pretty good bet but make sure to test your drugs anyway using kits if possible.

Established in September of 2019, this one seems notable as they seem to err on the side of caution in terms of what they supply. So certain chems such as benzos and cannabinoids are not available here. I respect that greatly, so they are number two on the list. They are also less expensive than the number three entry. Only bank transfers and crypto are accepted as payment.
2. RealChems (https://realchems.net)
Established in January of 2019, this one is more expensive and more ambiguous. It also looks like a rather euro-centric site. Honestly, I'd say just go with Chemical Collective and if they're down or don't have your product, RealChems may serve as a replacement. RealChems' selection is a bit more limited than Chemical Collective as well, it looks like, and there doesn't seem to be a good reason why. Only bank transfers and crypto are accepted as payment.
