Skillet recommendations?

I had a non-stick skillet once. The coating started to come off, and then there were bits of it in my food.
Then I bought another. It was nice, but then the non-stickiness started to wear off as well.

Now what? Do I just have to keep buying skillets over and over again for the rest of my life?

Got any recommendations?

Ceramic ones seem to last a while. Also, Hexclad is supposed to be extremely durable, but I've also heard mixed things about them too.

You need a cast iron skillet, and then you need to cure it so it gets the proper non stick protective coat. Lasts decades with proper care, I got a couple myself.

Yeah but curing's a bit of a pain in the ass and cast iron skillets are pretty heavy and clunky. Also I believe you can't do certain things with them once cured.

Well, this topic title turned out very different from what I thought it was going to be.

I have no other input, only using microwave and a toaster these days. Never used an oven or a grill, but my frying days are on hiatus.
