Post pictures and/or descriptions of the books in your personal library. As per tradition, I'll go first.

Paperbacks on the left. Hardcovers on the right.

V Fiction

V Nonfiction

Ask me about any of these and I'll tell you exactly why it's in my collection. Having said that, the fiction part of my library is woefully incomplete and the Nonfiction section needs more D&D rulebooks and The Numbers Game (book about mathematical manipulation of statistics by the news and other great upstanding groups of people).

I also have a trove of books on LDS theology, but nobody cares about that so I'll just leave people to request it if they want it.

I don't have physical books anymore, I used to have a fairly big collection but most of it burned in a fire and what little of it remained I left behind at my parents' house which they mostly use for decoration.

Well, most of my books are currently in moving boxes. Also mostly Professional Literatur on Design and stuff. And German.

Included are Books on InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, CSS&HTML, JavaScript, PHP and C.

Otherwise I have LOTR and Hobbit, old ones without illustrations like yours. Couple Harry Potter Books, couple Dan Brown Novels. Nothing remotely political.

If you had asked 2 weeks ago, I could have shown you. Now it's all in boxes and my back hurts too much to bend over and unpack them for a single picture.

In a nutshell, I have the Shannara books by Terry Brooks and the Heir to the Empire series by Timothy Zahn. I've been wanting to revisit those again. They've been my episodes 7-9 for a long time now, and I just need to see how they compare to the actual 7 and 8 we have now.

Did you mean to quote me?

If you did, you can now see what authors I favor, and which books I've read.

Do you plan to get Starship Troopers sometime?
Quite possibly. If I can find them.
I'm somewhat limited since I read all my books in English.
I have to contend myself with the English Fiction section of "Akademibokhandeln".
"The English Bookshop" is my preference though, and I could probably order books for them to take home there.
I have watched 4 Starship Troopers movies though (1,2,3 & Invasion).

The movies are total garbage and do a complete disservice to the book.
I have only seen the first movie, but it doing disservice to the book was very much by design.

The book, one could argue, is hardcore military propaganda.
The movie is making fun of military propaganda.

I didn't. The reply button is kinda hard to see on my phone and I realized my retardation after I pressed post. Editing is quite a chore too.

I am fantasy incarnate.

I got a bunch of Tolkien Books, including 3 non-Middle Earth books, all physical Hardcovers copies.

Digitally though I almost have the entire Warhammer Fantasy canon, including the End Times. Both Story Novels and Rulebooks.

And I got a bunch of Warcraft novels though I am missing books from the Mist of Pandaria to Battle for Azroth timeframes.

Still eyeing on reading Conan the Barbarian novels.

What's the nicest edition of LotR you have? One of my relatives has a hardbound edition of it illustrated by Alan Lee.

I have quite few books but can't be arsted to take an actual picture or list them out. It's pretty much split three ways between history/political books I've acquired over the years, science fiction books I've bought myself or had gifted to me, and manga.

Only if you count the Pacific theatre of the second world war. Most of the history books are about that, the first world war, or some other conflict.

Its a non-illustrated one sadly, though the Silmarillion, Beren and Luthien, and the Children of Hurin are.

Silmarillion has illustrations from Ted Nasmith who imo captured Tolkien's world the best.

http://www.tednasmith.com/

Beren and Luthien and Children of Hurin are done by Alan Lee, his work is decent but does not hold a candle to Ted Nasmith.

The Hobbit one I have, a Pocket Hardbook edition, has illustrations from the the man Tolkien himself.

Alright, I'm game.

Here's my latest bookstore haul:

https://imgur.com/a/OZiUX1p

Already made my way through Pavić's Dictionary of the Khazars - one of the weirdest books I've ever read (and I mean that as the highest possible compliment). Currently reading Brian Moore's Black Robe; pretty good so far.

Welcome (again) to the forum! <3

The Dictionary does sound pretty weird. Kind of wondering what the whole point of it is though.

Thanks (again ;D)!

As for the Dictionary... to be honest, I was left asking myself that very question after reading the whole damn thing. Particularly when the author originally went through the bother of publishing two versions of it, one "male" and one "female", which were identical except for a single - but crucial, he assured us - paragraph, which, at least as far as I'm concerned,

turned out to be identical if slightly differently phrased.

What does it all mean? Well... your guess really is as good as mine, I suppose.

I will say this, though, it's one of the most creatively novels I've ever read, structure-wise, and it's a treasure trove of fantastic, weird and surprisingly humorous short stories, fables and vignettes.
