For me, a noteworthy moment was with one person who could somehow influence random.org's coin flipper to always flip heads or tails depending on what they thought about. I tested this extensively on my own PC. I flipped coins constantly while they were concentrating on it and it always came up heads and when they stopped, the toss went back to being completely random.

To this day, I have no fucking clue how that happened, but I do know they practiced small amounts of Magick as well so who knows.

This one Time my Brother and his Girlfriend were drinking with my Girlfriend and me. During this I decided that my Brother should start guessing what Song I was thinking about (while mimicking telepathic communication). Took like 8 Songs before one of us got it wrong.

I don't really think this was supernatural, but it was pretty funny.

First thing that pops into mind is that you all know each other too well but yeah. That is kind of interesting.

I have had this green plastic marble that has a magnet in it. In every house I've lived in since I got it, I'll find a metal reinforcement strip behind the paint on the corner of a wall and stick it as high up as possible. Just a silly thing I do. One day, it rolled down my wall seemingly all by itself even though it had been up for years. This was only days after my pet ferret died, so it seemed like something a ghost ferret might do. It probably was someone in the bathroom bumping the wall from the other side, but they had years to do it and make it roll before there was a death around me.

That's kind of a sad story. :(

When I was in high school, I was up late one night doing some homework and had the TV on some random channel for some background noise. I don't know what movie was playing (never really even looked at the screen,) but I was listening to the gist of the story as it was interesting enough. After about an a half hour, I heard gunfire from the screen, so looked up to catch the action when I noticed the film was entirely in German... I don't speak German. In that moment of realization, all the clarity I'd had of the film up to that point vanished and the language I'd been understanding perfectly for half an hour returned to the alien tongue it is to me.

Are you sure you understood what they actually were saying instead of what your brain thought they were saying?

This was over 20 years ago so I don't recall the details, but yes, I understood what I was hearing; I knew character names, I'd been following the plot, etc. It's hard to explain, but it was a passive "understanding," like when you overhear people talking in a restaurant without actuallylistening, if that makes any kind of sense? When I looked up and saw the subtitles, the film was right where I expected it to be, but the spoken language was suddenly alien to me, is it SHOULD have been.

That is pretty interesting!
Now, I could hope and hope that there is something to this, but the skeptic in me understands that it's most likely another, boring but more rational, answer.

I can continue to speculate on how future tech will transfer speech-thoughts though, and if they are feasible through a generalized overlapping brain pattern or individually unique.

Oh, I’m entirely with you that the answer is probably more mundane than divine. One possible answer I had was that the plot was so same-y and unremarkable that one need not even speak the language to understand it!

That actually seems like a very reasonable explanation. You can intuit the gist and overall meaning of a sentence from the speech pattern, the cadence, the emotion in it... and I can definitely imagine somebody doing all that interpretation subconsciously, for background noise.

Human mind's incredible, though.

I couldn't agree more. The human mind is incredible. On so many levels.
It's thinking on its own, and "manually". It's flexible, fluid and vague while maintaining a coherent process. Etc.
I've always been awe-struck by the fact that the brain can think about the brain. Neurons visualizing themselves.
I may have fuddled that last part, since I can't remember the spiffy and succinct point I that originally heard.
Something about the universe not being able to ..sorry. Lost the thread/thought. Hah!

Ok...so a more real one. Pretty personal, the kind of thing I normally don't post.

So, roughly 10 years ago I was going to commit suicide, heavy I know. At the time I was really only friends with my current Girlfriend, though I had openly been .

One Night I was feeling particularly horrible, so I decided that barring some kind of unexpected intervention, I was going to hang myself in the Woods, I spoke to no one about it. Everyone I knew was busy with their own stuff and anyone that has dealt with depression could surely confirm that rather minor things can set one off on a spiral of "I'm worthless, might as well end it all" when already in the mindset.

So, I grabbed my Backpack with the necessary Untensils and headed out in the middle of the Night.

I'd barely left the House (talking literally 3-5 steps down the street) when my Cell rang...

Current Girlfriend was on the Phone, left the party she was at because she missed talking to me and decided to confess her love for me.

Not gonna lie, I'm not good at opening up, but if I've ever felt there was some kind of divine intervention, it was that night. I went from someone who felt that his existence or non-existence would pass without large comment, to realizing that if I had gone through with it.....well, who knows what might have happened, especially considering that my planned suicide was in large part a response to another suicide.

I can confirm about the mind-set. It's easy to spiral away, out of of control.
I actually have a slightly similar experience. I was 10-11 and in a real bad place mind-wise. My mother was always telling me how I was worthless and how I screwed up when I tried to do things.. and together with other events and thoughts, I decided to hang myself.
Just as I was going to attempt it, my parents came home and I had to give it up.
It's hard remembering, but since we had a "Talk", they must have seen me or some such.
The event was quickly glossed over and not mentioned again. And I've never tried to off myself again either.

I didn't put it to divine intervention, but it was very coincidental.
Of course. There are those occasions when people don't get interrupted..so..

That's the brain trying to undermine your point, because it wants to stay undercover. Doesn't want us to know.

...And it knows when we know.

I've had quite a few, generally in the "seeing/hearing things" category... pretty sure I've mentioned some over at The Escapist.

Latest that comes to mind was not really mine but my brother's. Our grandmother had been ill for a while, and one morning, my mother got a call from the hospital, letting us know that she had passed away during the night.

Now, he hadn't heard anything about that when we all got together at lunch time, and before either of us had the chance of telling him, he goes, "you know, I had this most vivid dream last night; I was talking to grandpa, back at the living room of our old house, and he was commenting on how much I'd grown since he'd last seen me, that kinda stuff."

(Bear in mind, our grandfather had been dead for some 15 years at that point, and the house in question hadn't existed for some 5.)

"Then you (mother) and father walked in, and he went and talked to you for a while, and he seemed to grow younger as he did, as he may have looked back when you first met him. Finally, grandma came in, and she was looking pretty dejected, not really saying anything to anyone. Then he went to her, and they both talked a bit, excused themselves, and left."

He looked at me and mother and, being somewhat of a skeptic himself, said, "I know you two believe that kinda stuff, so if you think that's an omen, or something..."

This one actually sounds kinda believable to me.
