Finally, a proper Christmas movie to review in December... And it's uh...

Look, if the script writer(s) had just written this to where, near the times when Sarah and Johnathan would meet, they were both at very least just out of a relationship, this movie would have been a perfectly cute and and nice little Christmas rom-com. But that's not how they wrote it. Instead, every time Sarah and John meet, they're both in committed relationships. "Oh, but don't you see, the relationships aren't working out for them." Okay...

SO BREAK UP FIRST THEN.

And it looks like I'm far from the only one who thinks this.

Now, in Johnathan and Sarah's defense, at the end of the movie, even though they never found each other thus far, they still did the right thing and broke up the relationships they were both in, so they do definitely redeem themselves. One could perhaps even argue that fate was simply keeping them apart until they both realized they needed to end the relationships they were already in before pursuing another, but even so, a somewhat bad taste is still left in my mouth even at the end. Cheating is just bullshit at the end of the day. I don't care if Aphrodite herself meets you and says she wants to bang you right now. If you're in a committed relationship, then YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE. End of story. Now, again, if you want to break up with your significant other and then date someone else, fine. It's still very eyebrow-raising behavior and I'm not a fan of it... But it's still way better than cheating.

Anyway though. The rest of the movie is pretty good if you remove the factor of that terrible cheating behavior. At first, I also had an issue with Johnathan's search for Sarah as the methods he was using struck me as something a stalker would do. But then... Sarah IS very fond of him. She definitely does want to meet him again and told him such. The only reason she didn't was because she decided to let fate step in, so one could definitely argue that John had Sarah's permission to find her again. But the employees who help him don't know all that, so screw them for helping him. lol

I guess if there's no other good Christmas movie you want to watch, you can definitely put this on, but if you do, you'll need to look past some bad behavior on both Sarah and John's part. Not hard to do with Sarah though as, once again, Kate Beckinsale is so damn gorgeous, it hurts.
