Changes:
- Registered users now have permission to upload files, images, and videos directly to the site.
Removals:
- N/A
Additions:
- Updated the site rules to take into account our new hosting capabilities. The only "new" rule added though is against hidden malware in attachments.
Notes: Well, Houseman talked me into it. For the first time since... Ever, Sanctuary will now finally allow all registered users to upload files directly to the site as both attachments and directly viewable images and videos. In order to save space, you may only upload files that are a maximum of 32 MB and you may only upload one attachment per post. As we expand our storage, this limit will hopefully be able to be expanded. If you want to upload multiple files, compress them into a .zip or .rar or etc. and upload them like that.
PLEASE DO NOT RELY ON SANCTUARY (yet) TO KEEP THESE FILES PERMANENTLY RIGHT NOW. IF YOU WISH TO MAKE SURE YOUR IMAGES/VIDEOS ARE PRESERVED, YOUR BEST BET IS TO USE IMGUR FOR IMAGES AND ODYSEE FOR VIDEOS. YOU CAN ALSO USE GOOGLE DRIVE FOR LARGE FILES. Once I get a good backup process going for this and have made sure that our storage isn't going crazy, then I'll start guaranteeing permanent attachments. For now though, just consider this an experimental feature and we'll take it slow.
Also, SCAN ALL ATTACHMENTS YOU DOWNLOAD. DO NOT RUN SHIFTY .EXES. HAVE GOOD SECURITY PRACTICES. SANCTUARY STAFF IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT OCCUR TO YOU DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY DUE TO WHAT PEOPLE UPLOAD TO THE SANCTUARY SITE.
