It has been a WHILE since we've had an official update to Sanctuary. And there was even more actually than just the sub-forum reoganizing. But first, let's go over the full changelist.
Changes:
- The Clan Gaming Lounge Events sub-forum was changed to the much more general Events Calendar for the site.
- All Sanctuary Clan threads were moved to The Sanctuary Clan sub-forum.
- The Sanctuary Clan sub-forum was moved under Games People Play.
- Forum Games sub-forum was moved under Games People Play.
- Changed the "Other" category to be "Basement Level" instead.
Removals:
- Removed Sanctuary Clan category.
- Removed all Sanctuary Clan sub-forums except one.
- Removed all gaming prefixes in the formerly known Classing Gaming Lounge Events sub-forum. There is now only the "Upcoming" and "Expired" prefix.
Additions:
- Added over 25 new sub-forums that will cover every subject. Some of the titles are from TOTSE, but many others are newly named.
- The redone Event Calendar sub-forum can now be used for any events, not just gaming.
- Added the "Specialization" custom user field which allows users to specify a forum they're most interested in. Shows up in all posts.
Notes: The "Specialization" user field is actually an idea I had way back during Sanctuary v1.0 JUST before it all imploded. Afterwards, since we had switched to a much more simplified sub-forum layout, the idea had to be axed, but now, it can be reintroduced again. Don't worry by the way. It's not set to anything by default and you can still specify nothing in the field and turn it off again even if you had selected something in it before. As to the sub-forums, I uh... I REALLY tried to compact them down as much as I could, lads. And while I was able to squish a bunch into the other sub-forums, to narrow it down any further from what it is now would start to compress the topics a little too much. But after all, the whole reason why we made this change was so we could have subject diversity much more front and center as a free speech forum. Just try it for a little bit and see how you like it!
