It was posed to me in PMs that I should start doing volunteer staff positions so people can work more closely with me and be more active members here. So, me being willing to try this out, I'm trying it out. BE WARNED though. If you volunteer, you're volunteering purely for more responsibility. I wish I could offer more than that such as payment, but I cannot, or at least not at this time. You will get a "Staff member" title, but beyond that, there won't be any perks. Because I can't offer any. :( Therefore, I simply will not expect anyone to sign up. People who sign up are not better than the people who aren't.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
- Checking the forums and replying to any staff PMs or any staff threads at least once every other day.
- Posting any other ideas or suggestions you may have.
- Keeping the forums active.

In fairness, I'm also going to try to post here more often. In fact, I'm going to be doing a challenge where I'm not going to be posting at any other site except Sanctuary for a week. But yes, if anyone has any questions about this, let me know!

You can still do that. I know for one, we need a Dice Roller replacement. XenForo allows me to just insert some HTML/Javascript into an input box and make entirely new BBCode. That's actually how we got the Countdown BBCode.

And finally, you don't need to contribute anything technical at all... Just... Be here really.

Here's the developer's manual for XF2. https://xenforo.com/xf2-docs/dev/ XenForo is PHP software by the way, in case you didn't know before.

You can also go to https://xenforo.com to start a test XF2 installation completely for free, though each test installation will only last for three days.

Wrong. Staff can't be ignored by users (unless one uses a userscript, like me, but I am not a common user, I am a power user).

Welp, looks like this is correct and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable it. On one hand, I can certainly understand why it's this way, though I would have disabled it because I believe in user freedom.

But then on second thought... If users really have a problem with obnoxious staff behavior, I'd want them to tell me anyway instead of just ignoring them.

I'd do it but between doing almost nothing except sitting at a PC I have week long sprees where I go missing from my desktop. Can't reliably reserve the time

I have nothing but time. I check the site several times a day.. and I have lots of opinions..
However..
Point 3 would be a bit of a problem for me, despite me wishing otherwise.
