I'm gonna look into reopening the media tab so we can start hosting our talk videos temporarily. After that, it will get posted to Youtube. Think how the Escapist does it. Also, after the week is done, yeah, whatever video is posted on Youtube will have the comments turned on. Articles are posted here as well, but then get posted in their entirety to other sites after a week. You wouldn't think this difference actually matters, but when the article is on the other site in question and they don't have to follow a link to get to it, they're more likely to actually read it.What do you mean by "posted"? The subject says "posted", but the body talks about comments.
Say you make a video. Where does the video go for the first week? What do you do with it after the first week? Do we host it on Youtube but just make it private or turn comments off, and then the second week, it's made public and the comments are enabled?
Does this apply to articles too?
Isn't the whole point of us creating "content" to advertise, basically? Do we have anybody who loves our content so much that they'd start lurking here just to read/watch something a week earlier? I doubt it.
I agree with that. Is that what you were doing previously? Just plopping a link down and saying "click here for content!"?You wouldn't think this difference actually matters, but when the article is on the other site in question and they don't have to follow a link to get to it, they're more likely to actually read it.
We got a media player. It's just sitting there unused right now.Does our media tab have a video player, or would we have to old-school download an .mp4?
Only for videos. Articles weren't posted.I agree with that. Is that what you were doing previously? Just plopping a link down and saying "click here for content!"?
But I the delayed-exclusivity thing is silly at this current point in time for reasons I've already stated. Just my two cents.
