I was going to wait a few episodes before judging the new doctor who, but the first episode left a bad taste in my mouth so I thought I'd share my opinion of it.
I found it boring and uninteresting. The first episode should be interesting and make me want to continue watching, looking forward to the next episode, But no, the writing felt uninspired, almost like they didn't even care that much. I was at-least expecting the doctor to be somewhat interesting, but no. The episode seemed to care more about the new companions.
Speaking of companions, Why is a guy in his, presumably, mid 20's learning to ride a bike with his parents on top of a mountain? Then we're having a scene where the parents say their train leaves in 20 minutes. You're still up the mountain, its going to take at-least 20 minutes to get down, just practice in a park or a street or something.
Then we get introduced to the cop girl, who conveniently happens to know bike guy from their school years. That is the only thing I recall about her.
The baddie was lame and felt uninspired. I kidnap people to keep as trophies, if I kill someone I steal their teeth and wear them. Oh and i'm cold.
The doctor was the only thing I was even somewhat interested in but the writing was just so boring that i struggled to care about whatever she was doing.
The post credits part where it showed all the people who'll be showing up in future episodes really didn't make me the least bit interested in who they might be, it felt more like that scene from a soap opera where the cast appears during the intro and wave to the audience or something like that.
I'm genuinely interested to see how they portray this new doctor, but unless the writing improves i'll be dropping it after possibly five episodes.
