Site's all but unusable right now. You know, that whole policy of no communication whatsoever with the community that whoever own this site by now is coming off as a bit kafkaesque by now. Of course looking at how almost all of their content creators left, chances are that there's been a lot of mismanagement behind the scenes but site and Forum never seemed to have any major problems. It sort of just... fell apart for the last 3 years.

We didn't even get any fun drama out of it like they did over at ChannelAwesome.

At the moment it's one of the world's most popular blogging softwares, it's a healthily supported piece of kit with updates and patches getting released, so it seems to be an ideal solution for creating a website that's all about posting articles.

There are a ton of plugins out there that try to bend, flex and mold Wordpress into different things than a blog though, some with bigger successes than others. I would hope that they get someone on board with the know-how to write custom plugins for Wordpress so that if they need something custom created, they'll be able to create it properly and not use some off the shelves plugins that may or may not be exactly what they need.

Wordpress is an extremely popular platform for lazy people and organizations that don't want to spend their cash or their time in building their own customized platform while adhering to strict security standards, and as such it's ground zero for trying to dig up exploits and hack multiple websites via botnets at once in a single day.

But hey, surely the people over at the escapist know this and they are going to take the proper defense mechanisms in order to avoid having all of their users databases exposed. Am I right?

Far as I'm concerned the place us still in the process of dying. Sure, great that it got bought...I guess. Problem is, Russ isn't the person to put in charge. You can't fix a broken Site by reinstating one of the people that put it on that path.

All it is is the same old. Bob is back...a person who should be largely considered employable, especially by the Escapist. Critical Miss is back or something, I don't know because the Writers pacing continues to be so painfully slow that the story hasn't really even commenced yet. Yahtzee is a constant.
