After the infuriatingly mediocre Star Wars VII & the uneven Star Wars VIII (I think the good parts are much better and more interesting than anything on VII but the bad parts are downright awful and the plot is just frustrating) I can safely say that I'm completely done with Star Wars by this point, I'm sick and tired of yearly franchise movies so I don't care anymore, considering how much of my youth I wasted in Star Wars media in general it is kind of unbelievable.

Also I'm indifferent about Lucas's inclusion, he's a very inconsistent artist, maybe he'll do something good, maybe he'll do something disastrous or maybe just simply something mediocre.

Bah Attack of the Clones wasn't that bad.
I'd probably have to watch it again to comment on the film, specifically.

I only single it out because I remember it being halfway through it that I decided "you know what, this whole thing was just a bad idea; Star Wars was three amazing, self -contained movies, and that's all it really needed to be."

Star Wars is FAAAAAAAAAAAR more interesting when its a whole universe and with lore and history.

Its a disservice to all the work and care and attention other writers have added to this universe.

I mean why should Star Trek, Warhammer 40k, and Middle Earth have a large universe with lore and history but not Star Wars?

Just purism on my part, I suppose. In my mind Star Wars is George Lucas, and vice-versa.

Star Wars Episode 8 was a good movie, damn it, and I don't give a shit what anyone says. You can dislike it. That's cool. But you can't say it's a bad film. Sorry, not sorry. Piss off, ghost. OK, I'm going to try to finish CrossCode now.
Sure I can. And something not being good doesn't automatically make it bad, mediocre also exists, which is what TLJ was. Mediocre. You can like it, but it certainly wasn't good.

Also, we talking the same George Lucas behind the Prequels? Maybe he can have some decent input if he's being tempered by a creative Team (not that I believe this, Lucas famously refered to Disney as "White Slavers", I'm sure both parties are super eager to work together and not at all even slightly resentful). When you hear about unfiltered Ideas he's had they sound kinda...well, really fuckin stupid.

At this point people should kinda accept it. TLJ pretty much killed any chance of this being a fulfilling trilogy. We are 2 Movies in and I couldn't tell you where the fuck this "plot" is going. No amount of writing is gonna let you cram 2 Movies worth of Story into 1 and make it work. Now, maybe if they revised the idea of it being a Trilogy and made a 4th Movie, but as far as I'm concerned, there is no wrapping this up well.
