Some people were suggesting TF2. Others wouldn't mind GMod. GMod would be really good but people will need to predownload a small list of packages in order for us to really have fun with it. TF2 I don't know very well, but a clan member does.

Next game night will be in two weeks at 8:00 PST. We'll use this week to decide what we want.

I recommend World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, and Vermintide 2.

Those are the Online games I play the most at the moment.

Sunday 31 March 20:00 PST?

Might not be such a good idea. Daylight savings time occurs then..and the clock is set forward one hour.
Could still work though..but needs much more prepping beforehand. Countdown of time, server name, IP, participants, chosen game.

It doesn't have to be an Online game. It could be a game with LAN/internet Multiplayer only too.
Do you know any good private WoW servers, btw?

True enough, personaly I've used GameRanger before to play Online through a LAN mode in the past and had no issues with it.

Anyway if people are willing to do a team-based game and want to keep the Star Wars team Battlefront 2 might be a good idea, it does have NPCs to pad out for a low player count but it would be better if we had more players.

If people want to do a Racing Game I personally really like Re-Volt and thanks to the modding scene for that game it still is very much viable to play online.

For another Sword game we could do RUNE, Vikings instead of Jedi though I do think the combat in JKA is more engaging.

There's also Mount & Blade Warband but I don't know if that has a dueling mode or something similar.

Or if you guys just want to mess around online while trying to solve puzzles URU might be a good idea, fans still keep some unofficial servers around I do like the game but I've never played it much so I also don't know the answers to the puzzles so that might be interesting, especially the puzzles that require multiple people since I only played that solo.

Also if we're considering MMOs I would like to throw The Secret World out there, mostly for similar reasons to URU, while it is a more traditional MMO it does have some Puzzle quests that are pretty cool, plus we can actually access this page directly from inside the game since it contains a functioning web-browser, or at least it did back when I played that.

Those are just my thoughts of what might be interesting, personally I'd prefer to experiment with more unusual games that will offer experiences that newer games don't offer such as URU, but also things like Splinter Cell's Spies vs Mercs and Giants Citizen Kabuto but I'm on board with whatever you guys pick unless it doesn't run my PC for whatever reason.

Kronos is the best Vanilla Server of all time imo. Until Blizzard comes out with their official one.

Battlefront 2
Re-Volt
RUNE
Mount & Blade Warband

URU
The Secret World

Giants Citizen Kabuto
I have 4 and have played 5 out of 7 of these, and the other 2 sounds fun. Need to read up on the Online ones only.

I would like there to be two kinds of game sessions actually.
One more structured wherein we play as a team. Possibly more long-term goals included.
The other session would be more spontaneous and aim to experience different and fun "short" games.

So if one had access to, say, WoW client 3.3.5 (Wrath of the Lich King)..Could one play previous game expansions then?

It would be great if we could do that as I would also be quite interested in something of the sort but unfortunately it's already hard enough to schedule just one of these things so it's unlikely that such a thing would be feasible.
If you guys were looking for nostalgia and online, Nasomi FFXI was always fun.

It requires a little preparation work, but it is free. Be prepared for a challenge, though. This game is not for impatient people.

I would actually be on board with that, I've never played FF XI but I've always wanted to so I would try to really be on board for that game.

URU will require everyone to do a tutorial and I think it's rather long. Plus I heard although the Myst community is amazing, it's now sadly pretty small.

If we're really considering old MMOs, I would highly recommend Guild Wars OG. You do have to buy it, but it's absolutely worth it and, I just think it's a much more polished and better looking experience as compared to FFXI.

Didn't know about the tutorial.. Size of community doesn't matter to me all that much.

I could be down with Guild Wars OG, but would have to scour the brick and mortars..could take a while..

Well the longevity of the tutorial depends entirely on the player since it is a Puzzle/Exploration and the curiousity of each player will dictate how long it takes them but if I recall correctly (I may not, since I haven't played it in a very long time) it should be between 15 & 40 minute, as for the community, it doesn't matter much it's more about doing a co-op puzzle game that we all can play at the same time but I do understand that is something that won't appeal to everyone, which is the reason that I didn't exclusively select it since I understand people might want something with more action

In any case that is the main point of this thread right? To discuss our options, anyway while I'm curious about GW I'm currently unwilling to spend my disposable income on it, since I'm using my disposable income for the week on some materials that I need to run a Call of Cthulu 7E campaign that I'm going to be running IRL throughout the rest of May & April, however the game isn't so expensive so I might be able to do it next week if I sacrifice some eating out days and just cook instead.

I could be down with Guild Wars OG, but would have to scour the brick and mortars..could take a while..
It is easy to acquire digitally through either Steam or their official page, though I do understand if you don't want or can't acquire it in that manner.

How about Re-Volt?
Would racing games be something you like?
I know strategy isn't, and FPS are..

I didn't even think about that. I really really prefer buying stuff offline, but I guess I have to bite the bullet and purchase something online sometime..
I'm just not sure about procedures..and vary of security.. and also half-afraid I get sucked into buying in excess once I've done it.

Actually that might be a game I'd love to try again just for the hell of it.

Having said that, I used to have a CD copy of the game a lonnnggg time ago but I don't know what happened to it. Think it got broken or scratched to hell or something. Either way, don't have a working copy of it anymore. :( Made me sad.

As I said, I do have an ISO file of it. and a v1.10 patch to go with..

Once it's installed plus the patch, is the installation portable?
I'm not entirely sure..but I would assume so, yes.
Let me check if ISO is needed for starting it..could try to copy and move it to another folder and start that..

Unfortunately that won't decide it. You need to move the installation folder to another computer to see if it will still launch as the installation could be putting in essential registry keys.

Some on the GOG forums are saying the latest official patch or something deleted the music files entirely.
I have the GOG version, since I did purchase it as soon as it was uploaded, good choice considering it was removed shorty after, I can go ahead and test it but that will have to be done a bit later today, since I do have some stuff to take care off before I can just relax.

Could I put it on an USB, unistall from computer, then play from USB to check it?

Or we could wait for Kaleion, and use that one. If the others chime in and agree ofc. ^^
