It doesn't have to be an Online game. It could be a game with LAN/internet Multiplayer only too.
Do you know any good private WoW servers, btw?
True enough, personaly I've used GameRanger before to play Online through a LAN mode in the past and had no issues with it.
Anyway if people are willing to do a team-based game and want to keep the Star Wars team Battlefront 2 might be a good idea, it does have NPCs to pad out for a low player count but it would be better if we had more players.
If people want to do a Racing Game I personally really like Re-Volt and thanks to the modding scene for that game it still is very much viable to play online.
For another Sword game we could do RUNE, Vikings instead of Jedi though I do think the combat in JKA is more engaging.
There's also Mount & Blade Warband but I don't know if that has a dueling mode or something similar.
Or if you guys just want to mess around online while trying to solve puzzles URU might be a good idea, fans still keep some unofficial servers around I do like the game but I've never played it much so I also don't know the answers to the puzzles so that might be interesting, especially the puzzles that require multiple people since I only played that solo.
Also if we're considering MMOs I would like to throw The Secret World out there, mostly for similar reasons to URU, while it is a more traditional MMO it does have some Puzzle quests that are pretty cool, plus we can actually access this page directly from inside the game since it contains a functioning web-browser, or at least it did back when I played that.
Those are just my thoughts of what might be interesting, personally I'd prefer to experiment with more unusual games that will offer experiences that newer games don't offer such as URU, but also things like Splinter Cell's Spies vs Mercs and Giants Citizen Kabuto but I'm on board with whatever you guys pick unless it doesn't run my PC for whatever reason.
