TL;DW - OP uploaded a bunch of PS2 demo discs to IA. IA locked the content and then banned him later on when he tried contacting support about this. Other people have also complained of very similar treatment. OP also found some pretty suspicious stuff with their financial reports (although nothing conclusive).

Not surprised at all. We've all known that the site is slow and cumbersome to use, but I've also seen them take down politically incorrect stuff all the time, with the excuse that the "owners" have requested it. Sadly there aren't a lot of alternatives either.

and that's it for general archiving. Mostly they're about books or academic papers, with a few media focused ones.

What if a patreon was started... ? I do wonder how much could be raised. How much people are finished with IA. Although one of the big problems is that it would need to be funded through crypto I imagine in order to fully secure it. But if Anna's Archive can be a thing, then I'm sure this too is possible.
