It was an eventful time indeed.
Next time we play any FPS game, I low-key insist on bigger maps. ,)
How about Quake III? or CoD:UO? Or AvP1/2? or Deus Ex1/IW? ...or Battlefield 2?
Both Terraria and Factorio require some initial setup and experience before it gets going, but it is well worth the investment.
Hope to see you there again Guilion!
And thanks to Signa for herding us Cats this time around. ,)
DM-Liandri and DM-Deck16 were the perfect size. What do you mean? Any bigger and we'd be searching for each other way too long.
Quake 3 is almost completely redundant to UT99 in my arrogant opinion. I wouldn't mind Call of Duty at all. Though I wonder how many people have that. I know I don't have United Offensive. I have the first two Black Ops' and the first two Modern Warfares. AvP2 would be really fun but I'd have to find a download source for that game. It's not sold digitally anywhere or else I would have had that in my collection a long time ago. Deus Ex 1 doesn't have MP that I know of. I don't know what IW is. Battlefield 2 would be amazing but that's just way too big for the number of people we have right now sadly.
The first map (deck16) in UT99 was somewhat okay, but the second one was downright horrible!
Tiny cramped corridors leading only to an open dead-center dead-spot...making you dead.
I'm not some bro-dude who needs instant action nor have I got an advantage in learned muscle memory reflexes.
What would be wrong with some strategic thinking and long-term planning, despite it taking a whole 30seconds extra?
I find Quake 3 to be much better than UT. The game handles input better and responds much more intuitively.
The weapons are also more balanced and the maps slightly bigger.
When it comes to CoD, I hate the modern Pray-and-spray attitude and prefer bolt-action rifles that take skill instead.
Since it is the first ever CoD, though an expansion, there must exist a copy of it somewhere. I have it on CD.
AvP2 would indeed be fun. I have both 1 and 2 as CD's and digital backup.
Deus Ex 1 got multiplayer patched into it later, and it's rarely mentioned sequel Invisible War had it from the start I think. I have both on CD.
I don't really remember Battlefield 2 all that well.
Still, all of these were just examples. We really should discuss what genres we favor, what we usually play, what we could play, and what we wont touch with a ten-foot-pole. ,)
