It's kinda hard to write a review for this movie because it pretty much speaks for itself and doesn't really need explanation. It's got everything you'd expect for a film named Dredd to have, and so much more including brilliant cinematography, great acting, good effects, great writing (by Alex Garland), and spot on casting. Of course, some people just plain may not like these kinds of films, and that's fine. But if you do at all, then Dredd might as well be a must-watch movie. I only have one question related to this movie, and that is why Dredd didn't start picking up the hundreds of other weapons dropped by gang members when he was running low on ammo. The best explanation I can think of for this is that it must be official regulation to not use weapons that have been used before by perps.

This movie was just

It was Dredd, it was pure Dredd. I used to be an avid reader of the comic and they got everything right. Unlike the 1995 Sly Stallone version which I unironically like, but that's not really Dredd it was more of an action/comedy movie with elements of Dredd that simply didn't cut it. Although credit where credit is due: the 1995 movie had some of the best creature/practical effects I had ever seen at the time, the huge ABC robot prop was amazing.

No, this is just your typical action movie oversight in order to keep things tense. While the judges most used official weapon is the Lawgiver and they tend to have an over dependence on it, they will readily use anything they can to stop perps, Dredd himself in the comics has used weapons off his enemies if he had a necessity. Although he clearly does have a preference for falcon punching stuff since the early days.

Agreed. Dredd is a great movie. Only thing I can complain about is the overly long-winded slow-time scene. You know the one.
