Do you work out? Why or why not?

Admittedly my workout routine has fallen behind due to a new job and other factors but I go to the gym at least 2 or 3 times a week. When I leave the gym I feel so much better mentally it's insane. Now if I could just get my diet in check again I could get back to making gains.

When you're in shape, and especially when you're bigger than other guys people treat you differently. People are attracted to you and just treat you better than they normally would, especially women. It's really interesting. It's like people can smell the testosterone on you.

I work out here and there. I'm not consistent though and I need to be. Very soon to change.

I don't work out as a Work Out. I don't pay someone to use a building or to get implements. I get a work out through my life-style and hobbies and work. So an incidental work out.

I used to, but my schedule was disrupted when I changed jobs, and then got a side-job.
But now I'm changing jobs again, so maybe.

I think I'm still in shape, though.

I try to go on hikes when I feel like I have the motivation. It's a good workout when I go. Walked around 7 miles on Saturday through the woods.

Do you pick any mushrooms while in the woods? It seems to have been a great year for it (and for berries and fruit). At least, I've picked upwards to ten kilo of summer chanterelles. I just saw the other day that one of the autumnal version have been popping up. red-stemmed yellow-headed trumpet chanterelles. Or that's what they're called here anyway. No black trumpet chanterelles yet though. My favorites have also been showing some growth. Those being a look-alike to chanterelles, but having "thorns" under the hats instead. Spicier and meatier.

It's a shame when people think of edible mushrooms, they think things like portobello which suck, or truffles if you want to be really fancy. Lions mane Is delicious, enoki also delicious. Oysters to me are ok, I won't turn them down. Haven't been able to find morels or Caesar mushrooms in my neck of the woods just yet, but I'm always looking.

7 miles is a pretty good hike. The last serious hike I went on was 4 miles, to the peak of a mountain and back down. Was a great hike, but the Incline and decline really wears on you.

Got to make the time boys. No more slacking. It's 90% diet anyway
That's the hardest part for me. I get hungry, I can't think. I get bored, depressed, stressed, lonely, I can't be at ease enough to think either. So I snack or eat. I try to keep the carbs and sugars low, but that alone isn't enough. I'd love to disconnect from my routine to reset and get a better habbit formed, but that'll require being unemployed for a month or so and at that point I won't allow myself to waste gas or do anything outside anyways. Ruts are hard to get out of when you've reasoned yourself into one.

Indeed. Most people here only know of Cantharellus/Craterellus, Agaricus bisporus and Boletus edulis. There are dozens and dozens of more edible mushrooms. My favorites being Hydnum repandum, Langermannia gigantea, and Gomphidius glutinosus.

But if you can push through that shitty feeling, it goes away. It's like once your mind is made up that you're going to push through and not give in your brain is just kind of like, ok lol time to lock in.

If you want to lose weight but don't want to fast completely a good middle ground is a fruit and veg diet for a few days. You can just about eat your body weight in fruits and vegetables without going into a caloric surplus. Just fruits and veggies though. Apple pie doesn't count, nor asparagus cooked in lard and salt and msg.
