Do you guys want a server upgrade or new software first?

Our provider is apparently running a huge sale on dedicated servers. Prices are really damn good. In terms of laws, the Netherlands hate speech laws are pretty iffy, yes, but on the other hand, damn it if our host hasn't been extremely accommodating towards us. They've kept us going and I've never once heard a single word of complaint from them. In ten freaking years. Not a word. And I'm pretty reluctant to shift to another host since our host has treated us so well and have been so stable. So then, what would you guys like first?

... Did you forget about the 10th anniversary additions that were planned? The server upgrade would give us many network upgrades, but the biggest one by FAR is that we would have WAY more space. Enough to give everyone 15, maybe even 20 GB of space each to do with what they wanted.

New software would partly enable us to give users that storage, but would also bring a lot of new features to the table plus more stability, security, and speed.

Speaking as someone with experience with large projects - if you have the means to acquire a limited time offer on hosting or physical hardware I would jump on it. Software can be tested in staging and improved incrementally.

Oh, I thought these two choices were in addition to the file hosting, since storage, servers, and software are not necessarily related.

Do whatever you planned to do initially, or rather, do what will enable you to do whatever you planned initially.

Alright, the order has been filed. We will shortly have 2x2 TBs worth of storage on a full dedicated server of our own.
