Conspiracy Theories

I have recently become aquaimted with the endless possibilities of data hungry internet companies such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, just to name a few and I feel like they are very deceptive, maybe sneaky is the word that fits with how they don't make certain very important info readily available unless you go looking for it concerning data leaks, potential dangers of permissions, etc I would think this info should be enforced in some way so those who are distracted or have very busy lives won't fail to oversee it which affects us all. Would enjoy hearing anyones theories on the NSA or any helpful info, I'm all about gaining knowledge in this subject so I "stay in the know".

I see your conspiracy theory and raise my evolution theory.

The memes that control various groups have evolved to be better at surviving. All that behavior you described helps them survive. Just like various species have evolved different types of eyes, social groups might just have arrived independently at the conclusion that being cunning pays very well.

I would think that would be common sense, if not explicitly stated by the companies themselves. With EULAs and Terms of Agreement, you sign away your data without even reading a word of them. Even if you have an opt-out clause, 90% of people don't take the effort to do it.

But I don't have any juicy secrets to share, nor would I know where to look. I'd say to start with the Snowden leaks and go from there.

For Google, read this: https://intosanctuary.com/index.php?topic=5788.0

Though I think it applies to the other big sites as well like Reddit and Facebook, more or less.
