Can you get High With just Music?

This has been on my mind for a while and I guess it could fit here but when listening to music there is a feeling of being high or sorts. Sure this could be zoning out, but is there certain music that gives the almost impression or feeling of being high? Say listening to heavy doom metal or any of the music from the 60s, or Acid Jazz. Or is this just the mind playing tricks? Just a thought I had. I don't mean smoking a joint then listening to music or taking anything, more like being sober and getting that same feel.

I will preface this by saying that I am NOT a musician in any way. These are just my personal thoughts and nothing more.

Sound, and by direct extension, music is one of the many things that can influence a person's thoughts and feelings. Depending on how open the person is to the music, it can either take them to the happiest most blissful heights, or to the still fields of serenity and peace, or to the deepest depths of visceral rage. Or any color in between or mix thereof.

Of course, it's not just music that can do this though. If you read up on hypnosis, you'll learn all about engaging the mind at a deeper level and learning to control it. You'll learn that sound is just one avenue on how to do it.

Psychoactively, no. But you're not the first person I've heard suggest this. I'm going to guess there's some people that really can get into the music in ways I just can't comprehend.

Yes, it’s called Frisson. You can also use math to write music which is very pleasing.
