AtlasOS, before known as Windows 10 Ameliorated, or AME for short, was and is software that can be used to make Windows 10 not run like a bloated whale that spies on your every move. AtlasOS is just one of many Windows 10 programs and scripts that serve to basically reverse Microsoft's horrible decisions for Windows 10. Some scripts and programs are better than others though, and for me, AtlasOS REALLY knocked things out of the park in pretty much every single way I wanted. Now, before, when AME first came out, I honestly didn't care because Windows 10 was still receiving regular updates and, in the process, constantly getting fucked with in all kinds of fun, delightful ways by Microsoft. BUT... That ended in October 14, 2025. (Well, non-Enterprise updates anyway.) So, ding dong, the witch is dead, and the Windows community can finally come out and start permanently fixing this OS without issue or interruption. And so, when it came time to slap a new OS onto my Acer laptop, I remembered Windows 10 AME and looked them up.
So, as I said earlier, it looks like Windows 10 Ameliorated got rebranded to AtlasOS and they were on their way to putting Windows 10 support in the trash, but thankfully, I got there just in time before that happened and saved everything in case they decided they were going to just remove ALL the Windows 10 downloads and documentation. I, then, installed a cracked version of Windows 10 Enterprise using https://massgrave.dev/ 's AIO tool, used their more classic Windows 10 AME playbook, chose to remove Windows Defender entirely, and then restarted.
Using this cleaned laptop for a while, I really have to say, it runs amazingly. Search indexing did need to be re-enabled (I think I accidentally told it to turn it off while I was going through the prompts, but oh well. It's an easy fix. Go into the AtlasDesktop folder in your C:/Windows/ folder and look for the individual setting to re-enable it.) but that was the only issue and it was self-inflicted. I should say though, AtlasOS is not a total and absolute miracle worker. This is still Windows 10 underneath the hood, not Windows 7. So do not expect a VASTLY lighter performance footprint or for Windows 10 to know how not to thrash a spinning HDD as the install drive. (I guess that's arcane knowledge to Microsoft now.) Assuming you did get rid of Windows Defender though during the AtlasOS installation, expect some major improvements to overall responsiveness and roughly a GB less RAM usage.
One thing I do want to note though that AtlasOS does is re-allow you to ACTUALLY disable automatic Windows updates using Group Policy. Before, in stock Windows 10, if you tried to do this, Automatic Windows updates would """helpfully""" re-enable themselves. AtlasOS though restores this basic functionality. You can also disable Windows Update and Windows Update Medic Service in the native Services tool as well now if you like.
UPDATE: Soooo... Turns out I was very wrong and I owe AtlasOS an apology mostly. You actually totally CAN get all the old files still. Again, I deeply apologize for this discrepancy. The star rating has been adjusted from 4 to 5 to reflect this.

Now, that said, the AtlasOS site DID still scrub all the Windows 10-related documentation on the website, so if someone wants me to reupload all of that, let me know. And one last thing, to get Windows Enterprise, install it like normal with the following generic key
NPPR9-FWDCX-D2C8J-H872K-2YT43 and then use https://massgrave.dev 's MAS_AIO.cmd script to crack the licensing authentication permanently.
