Cinema Anchorman 2 (2013) - Underrated in the Polls

When the first Anchorman released, it was actually dragged through the mud by a lot of people. It wasn't until a little later that the movie became a cult hit and finally rose to the heights it did. And then, much later, Anchorman 2 finally hits. I admit, I was pretty cautious about this one as, in the past I'd heard bad things about it, but through the persuasion of one of my relatives, I decided to give it a shot. Really glad I did too.

Now, this movie is not as good as the first one. Let's just make that clear. With that said though, it does a very good job being a sequel, even if it's not a flawless one. I've looked at the reviews of people who didn't like it though and most of them I feel were putting the first one on a pedestal and not looking at the second one through the same lens. Ironically, they're committing the exact same mistake as those who condemned the first one when it released, dismissing it out of hand instead of approaching it on its own terms. Anchorman 2 is a zany ass comedy with Will Ferrell Will-Ferrelling it up hard. If you didn't like the first one, you're definitely not gonna like the second. But if you DID like the first one, then there's not too many reasons at all whatsoever why you shouldn't like the second one.
