Am I a furry?

Wolfe

As best I could find online, those of the in-group say that the only thing there is to be a furry is to claim that you are one. Well, that doesn't work for me. I do my best to portray myself a certain way, and people can make conclusions based on that. From what I've seen, there is certain indicators that give the out-group the justification to call someone a furry. For @Arnox , me admitting that I would willingly seek to become a werewolf was enough for him to call me a furry.

Do I own a fursuit? No. Do I want one? Maybe?

The problem is that, being as I physically want to be a werewolf IRL, any costume I get is just going to feel like a let-down. I don't go to any conventions, although that's mostly because I live in a convention dead-zone. We don't get anything here. No concerts, no conventions, no comedians, nothing. Would I want to go to a furry convention? Maybe, but with my social anxiety, it probably wouldn't do me any good. Of course, for any of you who have gone to my Deviantart page, you know that I happen to be working on an original series heavily featuring anthro characters. (That's the slang term for Anthropomorphic animals. It's good to use, since it's a lot shorter to say. Most human language does seem to trend to communicating the most information using as few syllables as possible.) Of course, it features the ability to turn ordinary humans into anthros. And if you asked me if I would willingly become anthro, even knowing all the crap that comes with it, like potentially catching illnesses like kennel cough or distemper, yeah, I'd still get it. Should I just admit that I'm a furry?

You don't even need to like fursuiting to be a furry. Do you like the anthropomorphic form? That's really the only qualifier I use. Since you have such a fascination with werewolves, I'm assuming you do like that form.

Why do you want to be a werewolf IRL? If it's just the form, that's kind of understandable, but I would say that humans can definitely have their own beauty. If it's for power, this betrays a deep misunderstanding of such. Even if werewolves did exist IRL, they would get put into the ground quite easily with even just two people wielding shotguns, and especially if they coordinated together. Raw rage, ferocity, and brute strength is power, yes, but merely one form of it. There are many other forms of power, and many of them are quite superior to that aforementioned rage, ferocity, and brute strength. So... In the end, werewolves are very fun in fiction, but in real life, they leave much to be desired.

Usually you would fly to one.

I think you've admitted it five times over by now. But you shouldn't make it your entire identity. At the moment though, you're probably in that starry-eyed phase where you just discovered the furry fandom. As time goes by, you should be mellowing out with that somewhat.

Furry is short-hand term for a whole host of other terms. Ranging from drawing/reading/enjoying etc Kemonomimi/Neko to Beast-people/Anthro to Fursuiters to Otherkin to Bestiality. Most people are in the first two categories. You seem to be going beyond Fursuiters into Otherkin, but thankfully you're not that deluded to have crossed the point of no return yet.

So, are you a furry? Yeah. Me too.

Sorry, I didn't realize I wasn't logged in, so this post and the North Montana post is mine. Not sure if you can set ownership of posts in your admin tools.

For my situation, it's about independence. I have enough vision issues to have been declared legally blind, and because of that, I can't legally obtain a driver's license. That in and of itself is a severe limiter in today's day and age, however it is compounded by my own low stamina due to severe medical issues. I can't work for nearly as long as a normal person. This means I'm stuck on SSDI, which hasn't increased its savings cap since it was implemented, like numerous other static dollar amounts put into law that haven't been adjusted for inflation. For those on social security, disability and unemployment, the total amount you are allowed to have in your bank account, both savings and checking combined, is $2500, less then the average American's monthly paycheck. I'll probably make a post on how badly this system needs reform over in the politics subsection, but essentially I'm forced to live with my parents because I can't possibly afford to live on my own. But being a werewolf, I wouldn't have to worry about any of that. I could just run out into the woods live comfortably without having to worry about finances or politics or anything. To be honest, I'm surprised there aren't more conservative furries, because that "just leave me alone" attitude is the central core of American Conservatism. Why live out in a cabin when you can sleep comfortably just about anywhere in the woods, hunt with your teeth and claws, just live peacefully away from everything else.

But you couldn't fly if you were a werewolf. Why not be something with wings, like a sparrow, or a dragon?!

Because conservatives are grounded, and like land? They don't have their heads in the cloud? ,)

Why not a human cyborg? I mean you can have a laser dick lol. But hey cyber eyes that can outdo the human eye and a body built to perfection.

As it turns out, I've actually had dreams of being a dragon. And rather quickly I learned that aeromancy (the power to control the wind) is the envy of all winged creatures. It is a lot of work to fly. To be honest, I've also dreamed of being a wolf, too. I think it's where my obsession started, because I remember enjoying moving on all fours. Yeah, the dragon is the power fantasy, unfortunately with my mind I've got enemies to counter that, mainly in the form of extra-terrestrials. At least, that's what I think they were. Unless you can think of human technology that has the power to stretch the space between two points for the purpose of defense, Making projectiles utterly worthless.

I guess I don't really like the idea of being part machine. I'd rather we get to the point of biological enhancement rather than mechanical augmentation. Speaking of which, I remember finding a game where the conflict was exactly that: biological augments vs mechanical augments. Can't remember what it was called, though.

I sometimes have dreams where I hold hands with a woman
