A youtube channel I was recently subscribed to has been removed. What's worse, Youtube doesn't tell you why It's gone, using the channel link now simply states that "this channel does not exist."
This is the biggest problem with the modern day cancel culture. Because the reason someone would be removed is because they said something the moderators don't want anyone to hear, so they want to hide both the statement that they banned them for, and any links to find where they still are available. Censorship is not blocking out what someone else is saying, it's trying to be the arbiter of what people are allowed to say. If you don't like what someone is saying, you have the right not to listen, but you don't have the right to decide whether or not others should be able to listen.
Two things to take away from this.
1) do your best to ensure no site has a monopoly over your content. If there is one moderator that can delete your entire online presence merely based on their personal feelings, you are vulnerable. The best place to be is somewhere you have control over what you're allowed to say.
2) Ask everyone to follow you on every site that you are on, because then if you are removed somewhere, your followers know where to find you.
