If you've watched a fair few Forgotten Weapons videos like me, you'll notice a ton of weapons that were iconic and still produced back in the day but are now either no longer made or are no longer made to those exact specifications of the original you wanted, so the desired firearms are either too rare to find or simply too expensive to buy. This phenomena is very common and there are a ton of firearms that people will scramble to buy at super marked up prices like old Star .45 ACP M1911s, SPAS-12s, and etc.
Well, I'm here to tell you that if you keep focusing on the deals and opportunities you missed, you will miss out on the current deals and opportunities that are right in front of you. Sure, those formerly cheap but reliable Star .45 M1911 pistols may not be sold anymore, but there are other M1911 pistols and .45 ACP pistols out there in general that are also very reliable and cheap!
Another more specific example. Smith and Wesson M&P M2.0 pistols are HELLA reliable and amazing wonder-nines, but few people are paying attention to them right now because they're currently still being produced and fully supported by S&W. You can snatch one up for ~$600 online at the time of this writing (not including FFL transfer fees, background check fees, and shipping fees). But sooner or later, for whatever reason, this particular model of pistol is going to stop being produced by S&W, and sooner or later, the collector's market is going to notice how good these pistols were and then start making a run on buying these pistols up. It'll be way worse too if the model S&W comes out with to replace it is not as good as the M&P M2.0.
And that's why you don't look at the past for potential guns to buy (unless you're a rich snob I guess). You look at the here and now. What is good quality NOW? What is currently in full production NOW? There's sooo many amazing current firearm models out there just waiting to be discovered and bought for cheap. You just need to do a little research.
